anyway, back to the thread, in my role as resident pedant, (with a hatred for capital letters, but that's not important right now), i feel obliged to point out that jamie has no wish to be involved in a north vs south debate and thus spells his name *southon*.

thankyou. that is all.

Looks like 'we' have bagged him at Cambridge City, sorry guys.

P.S. As this is my first post on your site since City played at your ground last, can I take the time to wish you all the very best for the future, and PLEASE, look after those beautiful Unchinette's, we are missing them already!

fackinell.

he told me he was only going to the supermarket to get the avacadoes in for the guacamole as well. I wondered what was taking him so long, and now i know he was at cambridge all the while...

evertonian - good to 'see' you again, if it's true that you have bagged 'todger' then, for once in his life, UB has it spot on, you have yourself a player who will sweat blood if need be in order to win a game - absolute grafter, committed to the business of winning football matches, never lets his head down, lifts the emotions of his fellow players and fans alike...

in a cast of over 80 players hornchurch fc (r.i.p. long live afc hornchurch) used during the 2004/5 season, it takes a player of jamie's quality, and indeed integrity, to scoop the player of the year award which he so richly deserved.

just watch out for the divots on the pitch, jamie

one jamie southon

there's only one jamie southon

et ceeeeeetera!!!

City strengthen still further

The club is pleased to announce the third new face to Milton Road in the form of Jamie Southon, who has joined from Hornchurch FC.

Southon, 30, an experienced, strong and mobile centre half, won the player of the year award at Hornchurch last season despite the turmoil the club suffered and showed great loyalty to his home town club while other players sought new pastures.

His former clubs include, Southend United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Chelmsford City, Thurrock and Grays.
