Southend boss Steve Tilson has released midfielder Jim Corbett.

The 24-year-old midfielder had his season severely disrupted by injury, playing only eight games.

 

Corbett joined the Shrimpers on a free transfer from Blackburn in 2003, having cost Rovers £525,000 from Gillingham in 1998 as a teenager.

 

"We have decided that he doesn't figure in the long-term plans we have here at Roots Hall so we've released him," Southend boss Steve Tilson said.
