One reason why Im not posting the information here is because of the last poster - anonymous posters who I cant trust. Margate FC and the law might see it as publically safe knowledge but I dont. I think the information is extremely sensitive. It has contact details for heaven's sake. Not only that but it lists a number of businesses who own shares. I dont want trouble from people who have been harased by people who have got the list, or got names out of the list, which I have released. It is extremely ethically difficult to justify telling you.

If you were a shareholder in a business which is curremtly suffering from serious financial difficulties and you are, by law, a part owner, do you want people knowing you are partly responsible for the situation? Thats the reality here. The directors dont own the club, they just act on behalf of the shareholders.

Im playing safe so that I could avoid potential legal problems. Im not budging at all, nor will I say anything more on this issue.

This thread is getting more and more surreal James Maskell in an effort to show your loyalty to the fans who slagged you off. You now seem to be saying that only a chosen few should have the right to know who owns Margate.

That is ridiculous. A lot of people want to know but they are not extras from the sopranos. So exactly what are you being so defensive about?

And many people who have supported Margate for years are very disullusioned by the way the club has been run.

If the club genuinelly wants to win back these fans, it needs to be as open and honest as possible.

And not give the impression of withholding information.

If you are all so interested in the subject why don't you pay £1.00 a see for yourself. It would be wrong and maybe criminal for jkmaskell to publish this on the internet. So why don't we just end this thread now and get back to the football.

Im not being defensive. I never said a chosen few could have it. Margate Football Club just stated again what we had all said previously. Everyone can get their own copies and Im not going to stop you.

If you have any more questions come to the meeting Wednesday at 7.30. The Directors will be answering questions. I suggest you come.

As for your comments about my changing views, have you been to Hartsdown Park recently and seen the progress? Did you come to the MISA AGM last week and see their accounts which showed that MISA was able to donate a substantial amount to the club? Have you read the latest posts on the http://www.margate-fc.com site, which showed that sustained progress was being made on the build? You cant ignore progress.

James. You have done your homework impeccably but why,if you are refusing to say anything did you even bring this subject up in the first place. We shouldnt be concerned with this information anyway and we should all be happy with the way things are run. I dont see a problem with the club and its directors to warrant a close examination of the books. I agree that it may be best to put this subject to bed.

As others say, if individuals want to know more then they can go to the link and look for themselves.

progress is what we are seeing given that it would have been so easy to have folded! progress is overcoming the odds that have been against us for so long and getting to the stage we are at now - returning to the home of football, being able to again buy players to build a squad for next season. something i'm sure even the most loyal of fans would have worried they might not see! so yes, progress has been made, and is continuing to be made! think you can do a better job???

Well my point would be when Margate got into the conference and had lots of crowds over 1,000 it looked as though the club could really go places ( and i dont mean Kingsnorth) you might think i'm being overcritical but personally i feel disappointed that the massive potential of MFC is still so far from being realised. And i worry that examples of clubs being stolen from their fans like Maidstone,Enfield etc could be repeated at Margate.
To be honest, i'm fairly impressed by the number of fans who still support Piper. And in many ways i hope they are right and my fears prove unfounded.

You have a point. We made a profit of £30,000 in our last season at Hartsdown (according to CK at presentation evening) and finished 8th in the Conference. As regards the ground, all that we HAD to do was level one corner of the pitch and add more seats.

Bad decisions have undoubtedly been made, but, unlike someone I could name, the board have faced up to the problems and not run away.

Well yeah maybe people like me should give them credit for that. But so much still seems to be up in the air> I find it hard to share the confidence of some on here who seem to see the flimsiest of evidence as a sign that the corner has been turned.

Thank you cookie, but I didnt start this subject, I believe that was David Holden saying that the list existed in the first place. I just explained what it meant. The only reason why this has gone on so much is that Ive had to justify not publishing the details here. I dont think we should ignore the accounts, I say we should ignore the list. All the same, lets end it here.

As for rayw (and theres no need to reply) look at whats happened in the last six months. Hartsdown Park is being rebuilt, MISA has donated a large sum of money, showing that it is able to bring in an income (and a quite sizable one too looking at the accounts), the transfer embargo is being lifted and as I explained to someone else, the creditors have a good reason not to vote no on the CVA, namely because there is an income being created by the stadium.

As the famous saying goes, "Rome wasnt built in a day". Perhaps you should bear that in mind before becoming disappointed that Margate wont suddenly come back to the stage it was a few seasons ago straightaway. These things take time.

If you have any questions (and Im sure everyone has said this recently to you) come to the Q and A session at the clubhouse at 7.30 tomorrow. Ill be there (missing a Planning Committee meeting for the first time in 12 months)

Progress is relative and depends on your starting point. There is no doubt that since promotion to the conference, progress is hardly the right word, but in context the last few weeks and months has seen considerable progress from a situation that could have been avoidable in the first place.
