Pulling in the punters?

Somewhere in between.

It gives supporters an opportunity to cherry pick games unlike the season ticket where you receive the most benefit if you come to every game regardless of the opposition. With that punters could say I won't bother with a season ticket and just come to the 12 biggest/most exciting games of the year on the cheap.

My initial thought was anything to do with Cheatanage in not worth looking at. However, it is a pretty reasonable idea. I don't like the idea of paying a fiver for the privilege of being allowed to buy thises tickets books, becuase a three game ticket book would actually cost you more money. But perhaps something for Roy and the club to consider

Seems quite a good idea.

Assuming season tickets are going to be £85/90 you could only see 12 games before it would become more expensive and I think if you normally buy a season ticket I would guess you are an avid fan who would carry on buying one because you would normally see the majority of home games.

This scheme could even encourage the people who don't buy season tickets because: they don't want to commit themselves for a whole season or the initial outlay is too expensive, to buy smaller blocks of tickets.

The only downside that I can see is if it doesn't encourage more punters it will end up costing the club money.

I've done some initial calcs, assuming £7 admission and max. 21 games

3 games = £23 no savings

6 = £41 saving £1

9 = £59 saving £4

12 = £77 saving £7

15 = £95 saving £10

18 = £113 saving £13

21 = £131 saving £16

I wonder if there are some other ideas that might be useful, if the club decides on what the objectives are.

Clearly the Stevenage one is to reward people who are regular fans but can't afford the outlay on a season ticket for whatever reason (can't afford the bigger once only cash outlay, not sure how many matches they will attend, etc.)

But there may be other objectives like getting more people to attend, encouraging youngsters, families etc, so how about:

1. Offering a discount voucher for £1 off your next ticket if you bring a paying additional person along with you.

2. Offering family tickets at a saving - £2 off for the partner if two kids attend, on days when there is no kids for a quid running.

3. Party tickets - bring say 6 people along to a game, organiser gets in free.

4. Taster tickets - come and watch Slough play when your usual club is away - £2? off on production of the last home programme.

5. Junior teams tickets - deal includes meet the players...

Some of these could be open to fiddles, but I suspect most people would play the game fairly.

Marketing the club is key to the survival which is our main current objective until we can go home, as Danny R points out, and also to keeping the club in the public eye, so they don't forget we are trying to. Being seen as local good guys with charity promotions and events such as the walk is also essential.

For example about promising we will donate £25 to a nominated charity for every win by at least three goals next season. We can have a whip round with a bucket at the end of the game with any such wins. Good publicity and share the kick out of such a win.

Just a few thoughts which may stir up some other even better ideas?
