Two More sign

Midfield player Ben Surey and defender Graham Porter have today signed new one year contracts with the club.

 

Both have opted to sign part time contracts - Porter has a long term career as a firefighter whilst Surey is currrently committed to a college course.

Good stuff - provided Ben can get back to his form at the end of 2003/2004. As for Graham, injury problems aside (I know that is potentially a big problem, but let's hope they don't affect him this coming season), he looks a perfectly competent Conference defender.

Ben's form suffered after his hip injury - he never looked at home after that. Hopefully a summer break will return him to full fitness and form.

I do like the way he gets from box to box - great engine, needs to spend some time on his passing and shooting.

No - we found out a while ago that Proths, Surey, Jacko and Skins had been offered new contracts - not that they had signed them.

Jacko, Surey and Porter (not on that list) are the ones who have been reported on this forum as having signed.

Its good news..the squad last season was threadbare for the trophy games. The more the better.

Thats really good news. I had a feeling that Ben would opt to stay part time because of completing his Business Studies degree.

good news about players wanting to re sign for liam.does any one know if macca has signed or is signing.

I presume you mean Steve McKimm. The feeling I got from the article in the Distorter is that Liam likes Macca but he's currently injured. Steve is to Fleet what Gerrard is to Liverpool. He's not going anywhere.....I hope.

Macca wouldn't desert us like that, even if he is injured. I think they want to offer him a new deal, but don't quote me on that.
