Hornchurch v Romford

Was just thinking, that despite the league we're both in, with the right advertising, both matches next season could be huge!

I really don't think I'm being over optimistic by saying we could pull in 600-700 for these fixtures.

Any thoughts?

Totally agree old son, but as per it is all dependent on the timing of said matches. If, as it has been said we will get a full season's fixtures in one go, then hopefully the Fix Sec will see fit to make the games Bank Holiday, early or late season games...but not midweek.

Both games could attract the biggest ESL crowds since the old Billericay days.

spoke to a few of the fans and we all think as long as hornchurch are doing well next season,ie in with a shout, our average gates should be over 250-300,some games in the midweek(if any) may suffer as they were low at times on a tuesday last season, depends on how many away fans turn up

We averaged 121 last season, not a lot I grant you but it always a hard climb back from any fall from grace. But in comparison to many Southern League and Ryman crowds at the lower levels, ours was quite impressive.

We played Enfield Town twice at home with gates nearing 250.

I would think so, but with also added local interest it could be quite big. Don't want to go over old ground but it all depends as to when the games are scheduled. ie not the week before Christmas or Tuesday night in Feb.

August Bank Holiday Monday has a nice kinda ring to it!

Depends on the League cup draw. Four groups of 4 and depending whether they do it out of the hat or re your conurbation could determine when said games will be played.

I would think that now we are getting a full season's list, Saturday or Bank Holiday fixtures for said league games are more a probability. Here's hoping anyway.

Remember going to the old Sungate ground with Canvey several seasons ago. What a craphole that ground was. The burgers were foul and the stench coming from the nearby sewage farm even fouler!!

Certainly had a few rumbles with Romford!!

That was our cunning plan that worked! Lee Smith last minute, 1-0 mission accomplished.....which of course followed our 2-0 win at Park Lane on a Friday night that season.

Mind you still got a few bruises from the 97-8 ESC clash down your place...
