did you have to dress up? sounds like allot of hassle with no booze.

oh I remember the summer of 91 well, all the exams were over and freedom awaited. we had a school disco with some dodgy man on the record decks in the school main hall (I think he was there to look at young girls rather than play music) we all roll in about 7 o clock dancing to the sounds of the 'shoop shoop song', and 'I'm to sexy'. getting caught half an hour in, for being plastered on the whisky we had hidden behind the stage and escorted out to the sound of 'everything I do, I do it for you' and spending the rest of the night getting so p*ssed on cheep booze over King Georges.

oh those were the days

PROM? what is the world coming to? we had a good old school disco in my time, the whole world is going yank

Actually Ken, Proms(Promenades) are a very English thing the "Yanks" stole from the English.
When you live here you notice a lot of things they claim to have invented that have remarkable similarities to English things.
The all American game of Baseball for example.........I played "Rounders" as a kid, not much difference in the two that i can see(except the inflated wages and drugs!).

it maybe an english thing (everything in america is, as they dont have their own history (i will let them have jazz)) but the idea of ending a school year with one is definatly american.

baseball was evolved from rounders, they just made the bats bigger and held them with two hands, i think there are more people on a baseball team.
