Well if the LV Mercury 27/05 is to be believed. Danny Jones is to join Cheshunt. Enjoy the trip to Merthyr.

It also reports EFC have signed Kevin Cooper and Lee Robinson from Hertford Town. The are also in discussions with Dave Hunt from Hertford and Hendon. Obviously got some money at the E's.

So Hertford did get to go up after all!

If they had, they wouldn't be letting their best player go.

Syrup I think Lovely stuff was talking about Hertford Town letting Kevin go who I have always rated as a class striker. I remember hearing for the first time ETFC had signed Ian Cooper and said at the time I wished it was Kevin. Still one striker don't make a team. Town could not afford Kevin (if the hearsay is true) so we'll cut our cloth to what we can afford for a whole season. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

And yes Danny Jones is class and as a town Fan I'd love to see the EFC player of the year in a ETFC shirt rather wasted on the Cheshunt losers.

If's buts and maybes!

cant town change their wage structure to attract quality players and push the club as far as possible ? you could then get both of them , jones and k.cooper would probably be the best pairing in the league by far !

The sweet smell of exotic cuisine drifts through the air, and the first drops of the impending downpour fall from the heavens. My eyes are drawn to the shaven-headed battler driving his way through the muddy midfield, the red and white shirts of his East London foe parting like the dancefloor in an office party when the 'Macarena' is aired. He is a true Briton, sweat drips from his brow as he commands his forces forward, his muscles flexing like those of an East German weightlifter on steroids as he launches himself tirelessly into a 30-70 challenge, and returns once more with the ball at his feet. The spartan crowd admire the triumph of endeavour over technique as they watch the one bright light in what is truly the worst visual spectacle since the re-making of Get Carter. Danny Jones epitomises all that is great about the English game, good old fashioned aggression blended with a touch of class.

Having said that, Jamie Richards was player of the year.

Danny won't play for Town. He's still bitter about what happened between his Dad and Jim at EFC years back. That's a shame because he's always been a good player, but this one ain't solvable!

Fair enough. Every good wish to him and he'll need it if the LVM is correct

When you look at other clubs Billy (no names) which bless had loads of money and then that money disappeared very fast the risks of becoming high and dry makes us look for sustainable growth in business structures. Yes it would be nice to finish above EFC in the league no mistake but not a house built on sand that can be washed away! We continue to build physically and mentally for higher leagues, and the people of our own town but at a pace we can all enjoy and cope with together. Come on the town!

Shouldn't your profile picture look like Burgess Meredith ?
