Thank you for your reply.I take it that you are not a Margate Football Club fan,just someone that has found this forum and said to him/her,self,oh this looks good lets belittle this club.I think I speak for every true MFC fan here,untill we here otherwise WE will always belive,no matter what other people put on this MARGATE FOURM.

I dont give a damn who makes the money so long as we have a stable club to watch each week. A club at HOME in the name of MARGATE F.C. Good luck to anyone who does make money out of all this. It will be because THEY have put their money into the venture in the first place & to save this club that allows me to thank them and wish them all the best. As for attaching blame to the club. It will be found out eventually SHOULD this be the case but in the meantime they have been true to their word with the ground so for now they have me at least on side. Am sure many others are concerned about things at certain times but true fans of the "gate" will continue to believe in those that make the decisions on our behalf.

I agree with you cookie. I support the club. Hell, Ill make sure I have the time off work to make the first match along with attending a whole raft of matches through the next season.

 

Im just fearful for the future. Attendance figures this year havent been great, although theyve been pretty good in a few matches. Itll definitely improve with a home stadium at Hartsdown but I dont think the effect of a home stadium will be so pronounced that it bounces the club back into the black because Margate will be playing in a smaller league than last year. This is all obvious but is important.

 

I support the club but want to see that the people who run the club are doing it properly. If they arent then I want to know, for myself at least, what they plan to do about it.

 

I dont plan on leaving for a good while now so I'd simply get used to my presence here.

I dont know...they look more like pebbles...not to be a pedant but stones normally have very rough surfaces while those have very smooth rounded edges... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

really? i feel its amazing we got as many as we did having to travel 90 miles round trip, loosing games week after week people still traveld.... did you?

You suggest blind loyalty! I think you are very wrong. Just because theres a hint of being safe, it doesnt mean that you dont ask the tough questions to those who make the decisions. Just following something without asking questions gives hose at director level to act in an irresponsible manner which ignores the fans.

 

Funny how when the Council is to blame the fans cant get to the Council Offices to complain quickly enough but when the club management make a balls up no one wants to ask why!

It's not blind loyalty at all. I'm sure there have been mistakes and false optimism along the way (the latter is something I'm sure you would never be guilty of). What I am doing is supporting the only viable option that I am aware of for keeping MFC alive. Perhaps if you donate the proceeds of your next book about the school for wizardry to MFC I'll see an alternate option. Until then..... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

It would have been pertinent to raise these questions several years ago when we embarked on this scheme. However, I do not recall JK Maskell (I'm assuming that is his real name), or many other people, doing so.

The fact is we have gone so far down this particular avenue that no good can be achieved by trying to stir up these issues and agitating the supporters. What can we do? It is far, far too late.

People must stay united behind the club and try to ensure the best possible outcome – there is no alternative.

Re Mr Maskell. The point of the demo at the council offices not in that instance for the council being in the wrong, (though their negative tactics led to it), but for all of us to show our solidarity to the club when an imminent meeting was possibly going to see this club go out of exsistence. I feel we played our part that night in delaying things long enough for us to be where we are today with the ground being built again. It may well need more action on those lines to get the commercial aspect through as its obvious the council are still using their delaying tactics. But that may have to come a little later as we just want the ground up and running first. Dont want to rock the boat at this time. But more action by the fans in support of the club and its future plans may have to be made again. We must not rule out more solidarity action in the future.

Were you there on that crucial night? Will you support us in the future? Somehow I dont think you will. Margate supporter! Dont make me laugh! If you are then ACT LIKE ONE!

Added to the above post and directed to Mr. Maskell again, Why should we get a posse up to face the club in the same way that we did at the council offices? We would have to think that the club were going to kill off this club for us to do that and that wasn't and isn't the case. You and a few others may believe that to be the case therefore you and those others should go to the directors meeting and seek your answers for yourselves. The majority of us are happy with the men running things not to have to do that. Go and seek your answers direct to those you mention who are supposed to be in the wrong. KP and others are very approachable you know and they will answer any doubts that you seem to harbour.

As for your posts on here maybe you could try and be a littlte bit more positive as a "gate" fan should be at this time. Of course you are entitled to your say and at first it was nice to be able to reply and debate the subject but now its getting tedious. We get your drift! We know where you stand and where your loyalties lie.

ok, normally i would not bite but i feel i need to explain a few things. First most people on here will know that i am not normally the sort of person who gets involved in little NET DOMESTICS, however i have not posted a lot on here lately but have been reading posts with great interest espescially yours! And IN MY OPINION your posts make u sound like a bit of an A R S E, even with all the progress that is being made by all at MFC you think that this is all smoke screen, believe me if your right then i will be the first to apologise, but until then give the club a chance!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course but where have you come from all of a sudden? cant say(unless you used to post under different user name)that i have seen you on here much prior to the last few weeks. If you would like me to elaborate further or or would like to reply in private to my post then PM me or maybe introduce urself to me at a game in the future, i'm not too hard to find just ask around and you will find me!

Dont worry about it...we all have bad days. I dont take things out of context very often.

 

I plan on going to the psfs this summer. Ill be taking some holiday time off to make it and Ill meet you there, along with meeting Margate Fan who I believe Im set down to meet.

 

I dont plan on gloating at all...in the event the club collapses (which I hope never comes) Ill support whichever side Margate is represented by...if MFC goes down, it can be rebuilt. From what Ive seen here, Im certain of that.
