What do you mean "my Margate supporters". Who do you think you are! I am nothing to do with you, I support the club. And judging by your comments you weren't even there helping out like the true supporters were.

Take no notice, John, you were there in spirit, and your Che t-shirt is still an object of wonder, and awe.

But the best bit of all, which should warm the heart of all the genuine fans of MFC, is that standing on it, and walking round it, you can really begin to see that it is now a football pitch, and when the turf goes down, and the stands go up, we can really start to imagine the first HOME game. Utterly wonderful.

Thanks also to everybody that was there, great to hear that the ground is taking shape.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures on the website to make me feel guilty but I am proud to support the same team as those that were there.

Like John, logistically apart from anything else, I could never have been there but I too would like to be at HDP for the reopening.

Thanks again to everybody there.

A bit like John-mildly guilty not there but 225 miles is a bit far.

As Northwich only had 20 volunteers turn up to help them finish the ground, does this make MFC a bigger club than them ?

I think the critics on here making negative postings about this, underestimate the community spirit a footballl club generates

Just seen the picture...26 people in total. Not quite 34 but not a bad turnout.

As for the critics comment...there is nothing wrong with asking questions about what is going on with Margate FC and providing different opinions to those who have been messed about my the club. There are two different sides here and while I feel sorry for the fans here who have ben messed about, I believe the clubs management have been to blame here. It appears strange that the only questions being asked of anyone here are being asked of the Council, not those who actually run the club.

A comment was made regarding the amount of money that might be brought in (16,000 pounds against AFC Wimbledon). I think that might be rather optimistic, bearing in mind that AFC is the biggest team here. I fear that the club wont get enough people through the gates.

Do you spend you whole life picking holes fella?

jkmaskell,I have been reading your posts over shall we say the last few weeks,it has come to notice that every time you post on here you are somewhat trying to belittle MFC,Why,you must have a reason so come on and let us all know it or are you just a prophet of doom,I am not trying to decry you in any way but you seem a little anti Margate,we are getting HDP back to become a football club again. We the fans would like to take one step as it comes, yes times at the moment are a bit we dont know whats round the next corner but untill we do I am sure the MFC fans will keep the faith with there beloved club and try to do everything that is asked of them.UP THE GATE.

I applaud your hopefulness for Margate. Its quite something. But I honestly think the fans are being taken for a walk by the management.

As for joining this forum, I joined after coming across it in a search for news on MFC.

I think the fans should be holding the management to account. How much money are the directors and other management members being paid and what benefits are they getting? Where has your money gone? Who holds the shares of the business and therefore has a financial stake in the business? What is the financial position of the Club and what plans does it have to bring the club back into the Black? What is its strategy for financial recovery and how does it plan to pay the bills?

As for the Council. I dont believe the Council is perfect. In fact I think the Council drags its heels and isnt able to make the full decisions. I simply believe the Club needs to be more open with the fans, who have given so much for so little in return.

This is a forum for people with an interest in the club. This is not a happy clappy club. There is nothing wrong with holding people to account.
