Facing up to the future

Reading the posts that have appeared since the news that AFC Hornchurch will be competing in the Essex Senior League, there are some common themes occurring.

 

Everyone is understandably gutted at going into last season expecting to be heading for the Conference and coming out of it right at the bottom of the pile.

 

But the most important message coming through from those that are posting is that everyone intends to stick with it, get behind your Club and see it through.

 

Unlike Romford, AFC Hornchurch do at least have the opportunity to progress should you win the ESL - and, unless lightning strikes twice and the money runs out again, it shouldn't be beyond the "new" Club to get out at the first attempt.

 

For those of you that have yet to encounter ESL football, you're in for an interesting time! Sit back and enjoy the ride!

Sorry for the way things have turned out. You may have fallen further and faster than Romford, but we know sure as feck that it still hurts when you hit the ground.

 

Best of luck for next season. Look forward to meeting up for a glass of Pimms around Christmas and Easter, though knowing the ESL, our games will be scheduled for midweek in November and February!!
