Tottenham could be playing European football next season after finishing second to Arsenal in the Premier League Fair Play rankings.

The Gunners have already qualified for the Champions League so Spurs will go into the hat to win one of two Uefa Cup spots for the 2005/6 competition.

 

Martin Jol's side will find out their fate when the draw is made on 5 June.

 

"We wish Tottenham well in securing a UEFA Cup place through the draw," said Premier League boss Richard Scudamore.

How cool would it be if Spurs got in, because we'd start in the qualifiing round so a trip to Estonia or Wales would actually be on the cards.

I thought the team with the best record from the country top of the fair play league got in and the other five make the draw for the remaining place.

 

Whatever happens, Thornsy won't be allowed to go to the away leg.

The team with the best record from the top country (which is Norway) do indeed get an automatic place.

 

There are then a further two places to be awarded by means of a draw.
