Strange post on...

Can someone bring me up to speed with what's been going on at Hornchurch FC. I know that financial backer pulled the plug a few months ago but that the club was able to avoid relegation on far reduced funds. But, what else.......?

Good thing is that we'll have 16 teams next season which means that there wont be an odd man out and the league cups will be easier to organise.

Why don't we use the two layer multi group idea I suggested before last season for the league cup which would give us all an extra 12 matches.

Namely seed the clubs in fours from last season with Tilbury and Hornchurch being given wild cards ie 1,5,9,13 ;2,6,10,14 etc with each team in each group playing a home and away game.

Then the top teams in each group form a new group who play each other again for the top trophy with second, third and fourth teams in each group doing likewise for a B, C and D trophy respectively.

It would give all clubs something to play for the whole season irrespective of where they are in the league.

Thus providing a minimum of 32 games plus whatever they do in national, regional and Gorden Brasted cups.

that leaves plenty of scope for appeals.

Come on A. Nut, we're not all arrogant dicks like Lovely Stuff. As far as I'm concerned I have enjoyed the ESL. Those who thought we would move up after just one season were always going to be wrong. Good luck next season, hope the ground improvements work out.

Happy. It was meant as joke.It was mischievous,as indicated by the wink.I'm not suprised it went straight over Abbeynut's head.I'm suprised you backed him up.

There IS an underlying jealousy amounst certain ESL factions,as indicated by the bile that has been spounted in the last 24 hours since it was announced Hornchurch were entering the ESL.Looking at that, maybe Town got of lightly in our time in the league.

Also Happy, you're the second person to say (of course Town wern't going to win the league straight away).I think you are forgetting that we were only piped at the post at our first time of trying by a team heavily bankrolled by a property tycoon.(Leyton FC).

The ESL have been good for ETFC.ETFC have been good for the ESL...END OF !

AFC Horchurch are a team who have supporters who are used to watching top flight non-league football AND they seem to have ambition.

So on Behalf of everyone on the ESL forum, may i say as a welcome:

YOU ARROGANT B*STARDS !

To Hornchurch fans:This is just to try to get you familiar with what you may have to put up with during your time in the ESL. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" />
