Hello , I was looking into starting up a kids sunday morning team . do any of you know what steps i have to take as far as getting into a league is concerned ??????? thanks .

You Need To Find A Club That Has A Vacant Team At That Age Unless You Want To Set Up You Own.

You Have To Have Police Checks Before You Are Allowed To Do This.

Billy,

There are rules and regulations regarding youth football, such as the Child Protection Act etc, but in the first instance you need to :-

Find a suitable league for the age group.

Set up the "Club" with Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Child Protection Officer.

Apply to the League - a lot of junior leagues are about to, or have, sent out forms for season 2005-06 already.

Apply to the Council or others for a pitch.

Get some helpers on board.

If not already qualified - go for the FA 1st level badge.

Get some money together for pitch hire, kit, medical equipement, training gear etc etc.

Enjoy.

Nothing to it really.

there is a lot more now to Youth Football now, but what you put was right.

FA Charter Standard is the latest, plus CRB checks, if anyone is interested I am proud to say I won the Essex County FA Award 2004 for being the best run Youth Football Club, this was judged after winning the FA CHARTER STANDARD AWARD.

Log on to my website. www.zodiacfootball.wanadoo.co.uk for details on what is being looked for on getting involved in clubs at junior level.

There is a section on FA Charter aswell. Happy reading, any question send me a PM readers.

ONCE YOU GOT THE AWARD YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN HIGH STANDARD FOR 3 YEARS

cheers Gazza, this is why I asked the question a month or so ago,and no one was aware of its excistence, because it is really aimed at Junior Clubs, been talking about it again this week for Adult Clubs. Its not that hard to achieve, but maintaining it is the test

"Cos out of 20 I can only play 11" "You know nothing about football" "And you know nothing about maths, so sling it" I had a great set of boys playing years ago but sadly parents are a *******nightmare.
