think I have done the right thing telling you all, you best check

Just to expand on that, I think I'm right in saying that the tax disc for a bus costs an awful lot more than for a car, so by LS's argument a bus SHOULD have more road use than his car.

Go on: get out of that one

But those 50 are traveling at the same speed as the one person in the car,are they not ?Why should 50 people on a bus, whizz past thousands of people in another form of transport?

You want the 50 bus users who use that road (in any given 10 minute time frame),to have priority over the hundreds of other road users that also use that road in the same time frame. How's that equal? The minority are taking priority over the majority.

A much higher percentage of all people who usethe roads is 'private',compared to 'public'.So how can you justify allocating private & public road users 1/2 of the road each ???

Quite easily. The bus gets most of its funding out of car tax revenue.Car tax props up public transport.AND even if Bus road tax cost 5 times that of a car, devide that up by the 50 people on the bus and they are all still paying less road tax per-head,than the one car driver.

See my previous postings. The answers are all there.

I've just looked up the excise duties for buses: they range from £165 to £500 according to the size. Buses pay more tax than cars, so they should have more space (QED by your own argument).

And can i use bus lanes if i pay for a 'bus excise duty' tax disk.??

If you take fare-paying passengers, have a PCV licence and the appropriate insurance, and stick to the bus route then I don't see why not

It's good to talk (Though obviously not on a Mobile phone when your driving, unless it's hands free of course).

Particularly if you're a lane driver!

"Equal treatment": 50 people on a bus should have the same space as 50 people in 50 cars. That's equal. Not 50 people in a bus having the same space as 1 person in a car.

Have I missed the point somewhere ? What HAVE these 8+ pages (currently) got to do with the ESL ?
