Calling All Supporters

[Margate Football Club]

Over 400 lorry loads of infill have been delivered and levelled at Hartsdown Park and we are preparing to install drainage and irrigation to the pitch.

 

However, before we do this we need to ensure all foreign bodies (mostly flint) have been removed from the surface.

 

Margate Football Club is asking any supporters that are able, to come to the ground this Saturday 21 May 2005 between 9am and 12pm, to assist with this.

 

If possible, please bring with you a pair of gloves, garden fork and wheelbarrows.

If its not bad enough having to miss the F.A. Cup final I also have to miss this clearing up on saturday due to work commitments.(on 8am till 615pm). Could have picked another day! Maybe some of us can continue with this or do something else on another day. I have been near enough begging KP to give us something to do to help and it happens on a 10 hour shift. I personally will endeavour to see if I can do something on another occasion. Sorry everybody to let you down here. Will be too late to change shifts but will really try and see if I can. Would have been nice to be a part of the team in helping. Blast! Blast! Blast! Am off this week after 12 noon as am on earlies so will see if I can get up there during the rest of this week to do my bit.

I think it is more a chance for us to get involved, and I think the club is great to do it. People are always moaning that the fans are the last to get to hear or know anything, well, we can be there and contribute to the building effort, and in that way, it becomes a bit more ours, too.

PERSONALLY, i think the club are taking the piss asking the supporters to turn up and get rid of flint etc......

 

Next they will be asking them to build it!!!!
