Large digger joining in today,and still the infill continues to arrive truck after truck load.looking good.

Your right Angle,spoke to KP this afternoon he said men should be in tomorrow to start on the drainage and then its laying turf or seeding everything is going to plan and as you said looking good.

Turf or seed? Why hasn't a decision on this been made by now?

Maybe they are waiting to see how long the drainage will take to see how much time they have left,also to turf the pitch you are looking at around £100k.

possible rain fall or lack of it has caused a delay. we hopefully are moving into a warmer dryer time. plus we are still threatend by a hose pipe ban. i believe one is inforce in the west of the county.

Blueblood, why would moving into a warmer drier time be good? Surely we need as much rain as possible whether its seed or turf.

There is a problem with the water supply to the pitch as I understand it.Am sure this will be sorted out and that the topsoil as it is now will get a drenching soon, together with the future watering of the pitch, whenever the decision as to the type of topping has been decided. I think the club are getting on with things in an admiral way and am sure things will continue in that vein.

Ground now looks as flat as a pancake. Job well done!

I like most people are looking forward on a personel level to a warm dry summer.Though this would create a problem for the pitch. i remember the long dry summer back in the seventies when on the 5th of june we seeded the top 1/2 of a field. it snowed that night. 3 days later we seeded the bottom 1/2. the top part grew a great crop,though the bottom 1/2 hardly germinated.
