Sad to hear the news but keep believing. You still have a club and a new start. It will be hard in a lower division but could be a lot of fun.

So do we, just lower down.

Think though, if we can keep a few of the players although I highly doubt it, we could run away with the league.

We'd also have the highest home attendance in the league. And if we pulled some wins together we'd keep 600 easy.

Then there's the FA CUP; if we can get in the first round we'll guarenteed get BBC coverage. Specially if we're draw to a league team I mean, Ryman league one team in the FA CUP, it's BBC material.

Said exactly the same to another Urchins' supporter today. If the worst came to the worst and you had to start again in the Essex Senior League, OK some supporters would stop attending but you would still get a hardcore of 350,400. If you were constantly winning games this would shoot up to around 600 and in the ESL with its average attendance of one man and a dog this would be a huge advantage

You'd also be taking quite possibly 150-200 supporters to places that barely get 50 people so every game would be like a home game.
Enfield Town had a great advantage getting crowds of over 300 and taking healthy away support for their ESL games and then of course there is AFC Wimbledon.

Just a quick question to somebody in the know. Would it be more benificial to apply for the Southern League East rather than Ryman 1 seeing as there are more Essex clubs in SLE?

Hornchurch FX we were... Afc Hornchurch we now stand !

I echo everybody sentiments about Tony and Carl, Thank You guys and stop by soon. You too will be snapped up in a minute !

HX is alot more than points, leagues and big money transfers (of the past), It's a bug that gets you and us Urchins will support the club until our dying days !

An Urchin is a bit like a wild cat, with our backs to the wall we fight back stronger than ever !

And all those and there are minority rest assured with 'a told you so' smirk on there face.

We will back that's a promise !

Well after we were expelled from the FA Cup we had to take revenge on Essex and YELLOW had the EFM removed from his name. And to be honest he's not really EFM material.

Good Luck from me on your rise back through the divisons, you'll be back in no time with the added excitment of watching promotion races, it'll sure beat stagnating in the Conf South like the rest of us.

It's heartening to read the comments from the faithful, yet so difficult to conceive what has happened to our team. But look at what AFC Wimbledon and AFC Telford are doing for inspiration. OK they have large support, but we've built this club into a real proposition for someone local keen on an investment in the local community.

This club MUST not be allowed to die, so bring on the Avely's and whomever else of this world because soon enough they will hear the Urchins roar as we make our way back to where we belong.

Believe.

Yep, well said Mitch.

I think things are going to be alright people. Regardless of what league we start next season in, what players we have or our slight name change, when we walk into the bar for the first home game and see the Urchinettes behind the bar, big Mick, Bridgey, Mags and EMH propping up the far end and Gooner typically full of song, we'll all realise its just the same good old Hornchurch!

Bring on season 2005/6

I'll be there you can count on that. As will the rest of the merry men without doubt. Smiles on our faces, chests puffed out (Man Boobs in Mags case) and lager in hand (no change there then)....

i just cannot wait for the new season.

i do find it rather ironic that for a club with such well publicised money troubles, most of the other clubs look forward to us visiting them as we stick large numbers through their turnstiles and even bigger amounts into the tills of their bars!

i can see there being a recruitment drive for bar staff in whichever division we end up in!

(note to pm - that was the word "ironic" used in it's proper context )
