AFC HORNCHURCH

I have just taken this post from the Hornchurch Website..

Just shows how a group of people can destroy a football club..

Good Luck AFC Hornchurch!

Firstly thank you all for your patience and support throughout the past week. It was much appreciated and helped enormously in what was a very difficult time.

As you are all aware from previous announcements, the Football Club had proposed a CVA to its creditors in an attempt to settle the remaining outstanding debts. Unfortunately this proposal did not receive the required 75% majority vote.

The Directors of Hornchurch Football Club Limited immediately sought the advice of its Accountants and Lawyers and were advised that, under the circumstances, the Company had no option but to cease trading and subsequently the Company was placed into Liquidation on Wednesday 11 May 2005.

A new Company known as Hornchurch Football Club (2005) Limited has been formed and the Company has received the consent of the FA and the Essex FA to play football within the pyramid as AFC Hornchurch. The Club will be advised as to what League it will be placed in after Thursday 19 May by the FA. (Although the Club have actually applied for a place in Ryman Division One the decision is fully in the hands of the FA.)

The new Company has applied to Havering Borough Council for a new lease on the Stadium which is being considered at the present time. In the meantime the new club will continue to use the facilities at the Stadium under the terms of the existing roll over agreement.

The Affiliated Social Club, and its Bar and Restaurant are not affected by the Liquidation and will now be affiliated to the new football club and continue to raise funds for it.

Due to the much reduced budgets being prepared for next season, both Tony Choules and Carl Taylor have recognised the situation that the club now finds itself in, and have this morning taken the decision to resign their positions. At a much troubled period in the Club's history both Tony and Carl brought much needed smiles back to the faces of the Urchin faithful. They have done a tremendous job and everyone at the club is grateful for what they have done, they will always be welcome at the Stadium. Thank you Tony and Carl, you will both be much missed.

Club stalwart and current Youth Team manager, John Lawrence was offered the position of AFC Hornchurch Manager this morning and immediately accepted that offer. His team of Alan Moulder, Paul Marler, Barry Fox and Del Edkins will join him.

The Club shall run a First Team squad, a Capital League Squad and an under 16 team next year. The existing under 19's will be amalgamated into the new setup.

You, the supporters have been fantastic in large numbers throughout turbulent times and regardless of it all you have not wavered in your support. With our heads held high, this is the beginning, not the end. Up the Urchins.

Looks like Hornchurch are back where they started then. A few years ago they were in Ryman League Di 3 and now they are back where they started before the infamoous influx of money.

Wonder if those 16 year old Chivs will still go and watch them. I hope the friendly is still on against them. All those chivs will be welcome back at the lane especially in the bar!

Well.....every club has its number of "Chivs". Thankfully, there's not been so many of them at Bridge Avenue all season.

But I must say, as one of the more "elderly" supporters (O30/U40) my lot have always been made very welcome in your bar, and have enjoyed our rare visits to the Lane. In fact, one of your lot likes his visits to Bridge Avenue so much we can't stop him coming!

We'll have fun which ever League we are playing in, no doubt about that!

Hope your club has found its feet in the Conf, and look forward to your lot re-acquainting yourself with Stimmo (if the fixture doesn't clash with ours of course!)

Good Luck.

true man utd fans dont either

Yes they do.

back your statement then.

Back my statement - but it is an opinion and therefore, by definition, subjective. However, judging from other posts and letters in the press, I do not feel that my opinion is not extreme. Also, I seem to remember Roy Keane suggesting that there weren't that many real fans anymore anyway.

Fu*k Man Utd.

Its clubs like Hornchurch that i'm sorry for. Some wan*er with a bit of money decides he has the bollo*ks to have a football team as a play thing and then when things get a bit heavy, he leaves them in ruins.

It's not as if Man Utd are gonna get relegated or go out of business. No, the only reason the fans are moaning is because they'll have to fork out a bit more on their already extortionate tickets. Boo Fuc*ing Hoo!

As i said, they have been so big headed for so long, it's good to see them in trouble!

That's their fault for choosing a team to support that is miles away from their home town, just because they were winning everything.

re: Man Utd.

I'm finding it hard to disagree with you there.

They've chased the $ the £ and the Y (and the Chinese one!) and now it's come back to bite them.

Live by the Sword etc..

And the most humourous aspect of this situation is that Manure fans have only just realised that they are part of a giant scam to milk as much money out of them as possible. Trust a Yank to be less subtle in this aspect!

They have a hardcore of about 350-400. I expect they'll take about 150 to most away games so every game will be like a home game for them.

I think you will find that 350 - 400 will shrink to about 150 home and 70 away. It is alright until November night matches in the rain against teams with vrab club houses and even worse drainage.
