About to sign on for another 2 years according to the Echo. I personally thought he might struggle to get in the side next season but it looks like Jeff & Glenn have him in their plans, hope he proves me wrong.

Totally agree. Feel that without him stepping up to the plate after Lee was injured, then most probably we would of gone down. Really came of age at a vital time.

I thought he was our best player last season. Has really developed into a quality player & proven in the conference. Thats great news he's signing.

No doubting that without the goals Ollie scored we would have been relegated but i feel that with everyone fit and hopefully a few new players arriving Ollie will find it hard to get into the starting X1 next season. As i said in my previous post i hope Ollie proves me wrong and has another good season.

I know what your saying but Ollie has performed to such a level that he must now be one of Jeff's first names on the team sheet irrespective of injuries or whatever giving him that chance.

 

Watching games last year he is one of the few who in the team is good enough for the conference.

 

I do agree though we need to get in a couple of new faces to push higher in the league.

Im sorry but this is a step in the wrong directions. For all you people how think ollie was on of the better players you should think again he is a good player don't get me wrong but there are better players which we could've signed and have lost to other clubs. When he is on the pitch he is very greedy and late in his challenges.speakin to some of the players a the end of the season they seemed to think he wouldn't be missed.

Ollie did well last season and I can see the points both for and against his inclusion.

 

There probably is better players out there but it doesn't mean to say they would sign for Canvey.

 

Personally IMHO I think one of his biggest problems was his discipline. Would like to see others join the club so they all have to work at earning a place in the starting line up. However, I generally think it is good news.

Many differing opinions. Here’s another.

 

If Ollie has been mentioned as one of our better last season, just goes to show what sort of season we had and luckily the 3 other teams that went down were in there, this time. Next season will be even harder. The guy’s an enigma. We must be looking at a higher level of player for the future so I am really surprised if he stays on.

Ollie is a quality player and I'm pleased he's signed on. He scored so many important goals last season and his work rate is immense. He does need to curb his temper though as he too easily occurs the wrath of referees with stupid tackles and acts of petulance.

 

He is an important part of the squad and should be retained.

MOB You know nothing about football. Ollie is a good player but he is the wrong type of player to bring in we need quick and active players, Ollie is very Greedy and slow also would have not even scored half his goals if boyly had been not injured.

I am not going to argue with you about what I know about football, you have no way of judging that. Football is about opinions and the reason we come on here is to share them.

 

I have watched Ollie more than most, before he even came to Canvey and I have watched him coaching many times. I have a little knowledge of where he is coming from.

 

Firstly he aint a bad player.

 

Second we are not bringing him in he is already here.

 

Third He is not slow!

 

 

I have not always been a fan of his as I have said before when he first came I thought he was good, there was a time when he was not getting a lot of football and I think he may have been out of favour, however when we were going through a lot of injuries at times he was the best player we had.

 

Like a lot of our players if he has the capacity to learn from last year and develop, he could be useful next year.

 

He works well with Lee and I think they get on well, at least he takes great pleasure in setting up a goal.

 

I would rather have him than Junior or Greggors, but not as much as Keeling or Mario.

 

As for me knowing nothing about football thats your opinion, a crap one but none the less your opinion.

We definately played better with Ollie in the team than Jeff Minton. He had more going forward, and contributed all over he field. If he could just stay on for 90 minutes...
