How does Brimmo work

Hypothetical question.

What would be the general reaction down Enfield way if your council came up with a "dream" site for a stadium to used by both ETFC and EFC? Bar and catering receipts to be shared accordingly.

Or would even a merger then be considered?

Groundshare.Like Inter Milan and AC Milan.

IF the council offered the site on condition that the two clubs unite. That would be very interesting. It very unlikely though.

....Up to a thousand seats (providing the money was there) could easily be accomodated without going any higher than the current main stand.....

So that's an all seater stadium which whould be 75% empty... what a waste! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" />

No Abbeyman, because attendances would rise as progress and success rise.I remember going to stevenage about fifteen years ago when they were in div3 of the Ryman. They had one tiny little stand and the crowd on the night was 96 (league game). They now have a great ground and crowds of well over 1500.Its the same with Rushden & Diamonds. Both teams the year before their merger were averaging gates of 50 in their respective leagues. With success ,bring a lot more fans.Don't forget Enfield is a massive place with a recognised non league fan base.300 watch Town 100 watch EFC ,that means there are at least 500 people who used to watch non league football in Enfield ,who no longer attend.Give them sucess again, and they will return. As you know,we used to get 3000 for round 1&2 FA cup matches.

Towns overall league & FA competion gates averaged about 280 this season.Next year i suspect around 320-340.Get promoted again, and the figure goes up.Get promoted again and the figure rises further.etc..etc.

ok BUT since the mid 70's Enfield FC, despite all their success, has never been particularly well supported - not by OFFICIAL attendances anyway ! Even in the APL hayday after the initial season it was a struggle to get over 2000 more like 700-800.

Figures might rise along with promotion but they soon tail off again after a while. Take a look at your own... despite the trophies that you have won, I believe that your attendances have actually been decreasing since your formation. Your guestimate for next season is still below that inaugural season. Football followers in the Enfield area have always been fickle!

Thus, my original comment still holds true (although judging by the way some of your attendances appeared to be over inflated this season anything is possible).

Q.E.D.
