How does Brimmo work

Recommended Posts

as you are as I believe tennants at Brimsdown how do you make money. Or do you ground share and take 50-50 (steady Junior) of the profits, if thats so you can't realistically carry on like that if you want to get higher in the pyramid. Or can you ? You must have a long lease otherwise you would still be in the ESL.

10 year lease.Town take all gate money,Brimsdown take all bar receits.I think Town can progress another league with the situation as it is.Yes we need our own ground and clubhouse in order to progress to the top of the pyramid. This is something that we are determined to achieve in the near to medium future.

Don't forget,we are dealing with a council that was prepared to destroyed our original club by selling off its ground. Its going to be a struggle to secure a site off them. They frequently sell off millions of pounds worth of assets and land each year in order to balance the books. The situation is not helped by Enfield FC wanting a site as well.

A certain site should become available soon. The hardest part will be to pursuade the council to give it to the football club rather than sell it for 1/2 a million. The two main stands at Brimsdown belong to the Town, they can be transfered to any future site. We're not asking for the council to build us a stadium.Just to give us land so we can build it ourselves.

The london bourough of Enfield, ain't worth a hand shandy.

as efc/etfc supporter i do worry about the top flight game in the borough.

the local so called MP's only turn up if we have a big game. my opinion is they are just money grabbing wasters.

and here i willstate it now, even as local rivals, Barnet arein the same boat as EFC/ETFC.

the local concils want successs, but will grab it with both hands, but also, all teame want decent grounds.

That might be the case but we still have to work with them to achieve our aims.

To be fair MK.Have you been to watch Town play at Brimsdown recently. The ground is very respectable now,and could easily be improved further to cope with higher levels of the pyramid. It will easily meet our requirements in the short to medium term. It's the lack of bar revenue that is really the main worry.

Don't forget ,it passed the step4 grading more easily that Wodson Park did.As we all know it could be 2 years or 20 years before either of our respective clubs find land and funds for our own grounds.I'm much more comfortable with the fact that ETFC will be based in Enfield and building up our local fanbase whilst we sit and wait it out.

I didn't mean the ground so much, more where it is. I can see the local Brimmo residents up in arms when you decide to put that 10,000 capacity all seater cantilever grandstand in.

To be fair, the local residents arms with the original plans(as would any residents be, wherever you planned a stadium). The difference is we went through the propure procedures, and won the day.I think the main thing was,we wanted the plans to be approved,as was totally different to Lazarous planning application for Cheshunt.

But you're right a big cantilever stand may cause planning problems, but that would be more difficult to transfer to a ground of our own in the future, anyway.Up to a thousand seats (providing the money was there) could easily be accomodated without going any higher than the current main stand. There's plenty of space either side of the current main stand, and on the other side of the ground.Monetary restraints will probably limit any expansion of Brimsdown ,more than any planning worries.
