Good progress is now being made by our Contractor with Phase 2 of the ground works to our pitch. Over 1500 cubic metres of infill were delivered and laid on Wednesday 11 May 2005 and that rate of advancement will continue until the new levels are achieved.

It is expected that by Tuesday 17 May 2005 the new pitch will be ready to receive both drainage and irrigation systems. We are currently in negotiations with Contractors for Phase 3 of the ground works, which will see the construction of the topsoil and either seeding or turfing for the final pitch finish.

We have this week, placed orders for the temporary terracing and seated stands (as shown in the picture gallery), which are on an 8-week delivery and will be craned into position and fixed.

Final decisions on the floodlights will be made this week and orders placed with a local contractor, again in good time for the completion date.

Building works are expected to commence as soon as the pitch base is in place, which will include the required upgrade to the Hartsdown stand.

Provision has now been made for the construction of 5 a-side pitches on the north end of the site, designed to generate short-term income to the Company in the event of any further delays with our detailed planning permission.

Our Administrators, Langley & Partners continue to work on our CVA but there is nothing further to report at this time.

No date has yet been secured for the release of our embargo and football debts but it is the Clubs priority, as the Directors cannot sit down with Chris Kinnear to plan for next Season until this matter is concluded.

The Club would also like to welcome Keith Piper back onto the Board Of Directors.

Lets be honest I am sure maybe there are a lot of things he should not have done, but the guy has always been and will probably always will be around.Whether or not that is a good thing remains to be seen. The biggest problem seems to be to get this embargo lifted. If KP is back on board, surely there could be some one else with maybe a bit of dosh to help us.No I have not got any solutions just hopes. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I think weve got mixed up. What I meant is that is KP legally allowed back on the Board. When KP went bankrupt, he wasnt allowed to hold his position for at least 12 months... My question and the previous poster was is he allowed back in a managerial position.

If he has not been allowed back on the board...Im guessing by going to court and having his bankrupt status lifted, there could be major problems in that it could be breaking the law.

Obviously that thought would never have occurred to the club. Thanks for raising this vital point "jkmaskell", we are eternally indebted to you...

mr maskell,

thanks for all your positive postings in recent times! i must say that with all the good news coming through from the club of late you are doing a whole lot to boost moral!!! just what is your problem? do you really think KP would come back on board illegaly and the club would simply allow him to do so? also, to you and all the other KP 'knockers', tell me another man that would be prepared to put as much time and effort into, what has admittedly looked like a sinking ship for so long? KP deserves nothing but credit for his dedication and hard work - get a life, or maybe some happy pills!!!

I dont quite understand what you meant by that. Ive become a lot more positive as more good news has come through. As for KP, I dont doubt the fact that he may have done a lot for the club. He has stood as the foreman when many would have stepped down straight away.

However I was just asking a simple question, only to get sarcastic responses and aggressive questions from members like yourself. I dont have a problem with KP personally. I feel though through what Ive heard and what Ive seen that KP is not the saviour that many want to see him as. How many years have the problems with Hartsdown Park been going on, and in how many of those years was KP at the forefront of Margate FC? Kp appears not particularly co-operative with the Council in finding a way of getting round the issues. What is required right now is someone who can negotiate. The Council is not to blame for the current problems at Margate FC.

I believe also that perhaps his financial credibility has been somewhat damaged by his having been bankrupt. A man who cannot control his own finances should not be allowed to run someone elses.

Mr Maskell

Thanks for your intelligent posting. You will soon find out that 90% of postings on here are ignorant rubbish (with gratuitous insults thrown in) which is why most people do not bother to post or soon give up.

I disagree with your estimate there Mr Anonymous. Whilst James is obviously a supporter, being that he actually cares about the club, which has become apparent in his postings on here, we must also recognise that there is an anonymous element who come on here whose sole objective is to trash the club and vilify the officials of it.

We can discuss our differences with the likes of Mr Maskell right enough, but the trashers deserve no such civility, as ther motives are utterly destructive.

But how do we know that jk maskell is your real name? Plus most of the registered users use nicknames. I know who some of them are, but most I don't, so, in reality, they are just as anonymous as me.
