Change of Habit

Recommended Posts

I assume others have, throughout the season, visited the Conference south forum on occasions. Does anyone, like me, still have the habit of visting it. Just have to change the habit and prepare for the Ryman league,I suppose. Still we will return again soon. Not a great post but I was just wondering if any others out there were doing the same as me, as a habit.

Good afternoon anom.

To whom were you referring?

In my case it is documented in the historic logs of the forum that i purely wanted to survive in conf. south this season(although i did also say alongside that i wanted to get to the FA CUp 5th round).

Wrong on both counts !!

To me, anom posts are welcome anytime as often they have value, but a touch annoying when facts are not presented correctly.

al the best

This time THIS year I am going to say we will be very near, if not champions, going up next year. But no mortgage job this time! AFC Wimbledon will obviously start out as favourites at short odds.

Last year I unfortunately thought we would avoid the drop though getting promotion wasnt a thought really. I too was wrong, but lets hope next season brings about an improvement, though all depends on the playing staff we have. Knowing CK he will have some decent guys lined up and will get the best out of them too.

I reckon we have already got decent guys Cookie-certainly for Isthmian;and the younger ones will be alot stronger mentally next season

Question is though-how many will stay with the Gate next season and/or how many of them can the Gate afford to keep.

Whilst KP, CK may want to keep them, effectively we are being run by outsiders-administrators-whose role is to save the club and will take whatever measures are necessary, which i guess means culling the current playing staff in favour of less talented and cheaper, thereby it is possible we could spiral further downwards.

After some of the comments on here after the last game of the season and how gutted some of the players were I would not be surprised if the majority would want to stay, particularly as the ground is definately moving forward. As for Michaelmichaels post about the Administrators role of saving the club, they can't do that without players, so lets hope they retain them if they want to stay. I still say that we had a squad that could have stayed up last year. Unfortunately we had serious injuries at the wrong time, particularly with the defence i.e long term injuries to Greenie and Darren Annon. CK will be the deciding factor I think, they do like to play for him.

Good point Margateshot, and agree with your sentiments about the players, that is certainly how it came across to me when I was talking to them at the presentation evening. But I am not so sure the administrators will have overall control of the playing side, Dover are working through a CVA, but that has not stopped JP giving the manager a budget, and it does seem that it is the manager in that case who is building his squad for next season.

I do wish I had more knowlege of the CVA thing, so that I could understand how it will affect these sorts of issues.

All the talk about players for next season but what about the manager? Cambridge United have gone into Adminstration and the Administrators have fired the manager, doesn't bear thinking about!
