Gledhill and Pinnock to Welling

Recommended Posts

Just wondered what your views where on these two player's joining us??

Local media Reports are getting stronger that you are going to sign Danny Slatter from us, would be gutted if he left us, especially to you lot (no disrespect!) alot of us remeber the good old days when we were the better team, a sign of the times ii suppose?!

Your get a very good player there

All the best

Well, it'll be interesting to see how much Welling see of Conkers, what with his police shifts. He impressed me from day one, really, and has really come of age towards the back end of the season just gone. Sad to see him go.

As for Pinnock, overall you'd have to say that he often struggles as a Conference-level player (although was obviously capable of odd moments of brilliance, like his volleyed goal at Farnborough last season and his low finish at home to Scarborough this), and would probably be more suited to the South.

Best of luck to them both.

Shame to see them both go but more sad to see Lee go he has been a rock for us over his time at Stonebridge Road and I will miss seeing him in a Fleet Shirt next Season!!

Good Luck Boys! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bounce.gif" alt="" />

Gledhill was surprisingly good as a centre back (given his height) and a tough tackling right back whose distribution sometimes let him down, as mentioned above his joining the police may affect his availability.

Pinnock was a free scoring attacking midfielder prior to joining us, we converted him to a forward and he has never really looked comfortable in that role. You've already got Boothie who imho is a far better forward but if you were to play Pinns just behind the front two you might get more out of him than we ever did.

Good luck to the both of them....and all our other ex's that the Wings seem to be collecting.

I think we're gonna miss Gledhill. I know I'll certainly miss seeing the temper come alive at the back. It was a shame he had to go off on tuesday night in what was to be his last appearance for the fleet. If only we had known. Gonna miss seeing him in a red shirt.

Good luck to the both of them. We definitely need to bring in a couple of decent strikers or we won't be scoring any goals next season with only Siggy and Manny up front.

Didn't you say one of the players hit you with the ball in the prematch warm up once? If it was Siggy then surely the statement is wrong...... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I am sure with all the training Gleds will have to take on he will have little spare time. and with the travelling now involved by simply being a Conference team he probably cannot get the time from work. Playing for Welling even if only for a few games is good news all round, he does a good job for Welling ( as he certainly did for us) and those who cannot travel to our away games can pop to Welling and give him some support, I am really sorry to see him go, but he has to look long term and sort out his future especially with the added responsibility of his baby daughter.

James Pinnock, what a lovely lad, never moaned or groaned when left on the bench, I hope he does well he certainly deserves it. I think he would probably be the first to admit he did not shine last season,

I wish both of these lads all the very best and thanks for all you have done for GNFC.

I know you were only speaking in jest Harry. Taking it is all in my nature. My dad always says "if you can't take it, don't dish it out". So I've learnt to take it, coz then I can dish it out!

What I said about Siggy is true though, he's hopeless. With him and manny up front, I don't think the future's looking too bright.

Good about the offer for Roy and Bunce though. It says in today's reporter that Liam has offered both of them the chance to return to Pre-season training if they don't sign for another club.
