Justin goes on to say that with Danny coming back it'll be like getting a new player together with Nathan,Ross and Cuz.

He goes on to say he wants a couple of wide midfield players (wingers),a central midfielder and a central defender.

Im not too surprised at Paul going. I think I remember JL commenting on a strikers woth is goals and you would hardly call him prolific. A very tricky player though and did give us a different option.

Danny going is a little surprising but I dont think he would be in justins starting 11 and his form was not as good with us as it was the first time he was here.

As for forbes, well i guess the boo boys got their way afterall!

I wouldn't be surprised if Kerrigan goes back to the Urchins.

I don't think anyone can be surprised at Forbes' departure. His inconsistency (often within games) was enough to drive you to drink :') . He was expected to be one of the main men last season and palpably wasn't. - Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at AFC.

Kerrigan was down to third in the left back pecking order and this coupled with the likelihood of him being on a quite a good wage has probably hastened his departure.

I agree that Armstrong did give us something different up front, but the way he played in the last couple of games (hands on hips etc) suggests he knew he was going to be on his way.

The one that surprises me most is Kieran. I thought his game and delivery improved as the season went on and he provided us with the option of some real width which Dorms and Gameo don't really offer. I suspect the amount of games he has missed through injury has counted against him however. He is a nice bloke off the pitch, very approachable, and always very professional when not in the team, and I'm pleased to see that he's got himself a new club already.

You would have to guess 'tho with those four going, that should free up quite a bit of cash in the budget for new players. It'll be interesting to see who we bring in.

Not surprised that Forbes has gone... As a senior player I felt he didn't really show enough in terms of leadership and so on in midfield. Clearly got the ability but too prone to drifting in and out of games.

Kerrigan, again not that surprised. I think the writing was on the wall when he didn't even make the bench for the Leyton game. Little bit unlucky early on when he lost his place due to injury and then couldn't get it back from Gary Henty who showed top form in there.

Gallagher is a bit of a surprise for me as I felt when he had a run in the side either side of Christmas he looked good for us, and arguably the only natural winger at the club. Ultimately though his fitness did for him as he started less than half our games.

Armstrong I thought did OK, and there was a good case for keeping him as he did offer something different. Problem was he never looked the most potent in front of goal... Probably score a hat-trick against us next season now...

Hopefully we won't need to experiment with 3 up front next season and with Hockers (14 goals from 14 games), Nathan (15 from 16+8) and Cuz (12 goals, roughly a goal every other game when he played up front) leading the line we'll be OK.

You should be so lucky squire...

Maccca played at centre back 12 times during the season (and looked good there on each occasion imho hence the comment re playing him there as 1st choice)... In each instance Henty played right back. Gary started 37 games last season (+7 as sub) so JLs estimate of "three times as often at LB as at RB" is pretty well judged.

A pat on the back for JL, and a slap for Gazza <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/alk.gif" alt="" />

Armstrong will probably be playin at a higher level, remember he was talking to yeading b4 he signed 4 us. and his goal per games ratio wasn't too bad. he only signed after jan and scored 6 or 7 wasnt it? if we had him from the start he prob would of been top scorer.. he has scored 18 in total i think, plus he spent 2 months at millwall.

o well good luck Paul! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

He scored 7 goals from 15 starts which on the face of it isn't bad. However four of his goals came in one game against Slough. He is a decent player at this level who I think should be able to find another club easily enough but it looks like Justin has preferred Cuzz ahead of him. I think having Hockers, Nathan, Cuzz, Ross (and Tom Poole possibly) gives us plenty up front. I would imagine the plan would be to start with Hockers and Nathan so what we really need is someone who can cross the ball.
