from the [****!!****]-up formerly known as promotion.

"Walton Casuals and Lymington & New Milton have passed their ground inspections following a successful appeal. This means that there are now 9 eligible champion clubs - these two plus Enfield Town, Ilford, Ramsgate, Rushall Olympic, Goole AFC, Fleetwood Town & Potters Bar Town.

Additionally there are 2 eligible 2nd placed clubs who may be involved, Didcot Town & Enfield.

The FA will announce on May 11th what the playoff arrangements will be. To my mind, the simplest way now is to promote all the 9 champions plus the 2 second placed clubs and operate 3 of the step 4 leagues with 23 clubs next season. Surely that would not matter as we are probably in for another reorg at the end of next season. We could then avoid playoffs and appeals and get on with planning next season."

So later today Townie's future could be back in the mix once again as play-offs could still be needed, but it seems logical(?) to promote 7, then four are involved for the final place.

But the whole situation is ridiculous, with contracts finished, players who have not played for a few weeks etc, etc. So this would seem to favour the likes of Didcot.

Feel sorry for you guys and the other ten that have you been put through this mill, which, with a touch of foresight could have been avoided months ago.

Couldnt agree more , although wouldnt it be better if the performances of all sides in the Promotion scenario were judged on their own league performances for the Season ? say average Points earned against amount of games played.

Then the bottom two are left to play off so all the others can then go on their Summer Hol's .

The reason I say this, is as a Potters Bar fan and knowing that on that system PBT would not come last.

I feel comfortable with that as the "Town" are about to play for their 4th Trophy this season having already sealed the League, Divisional Cup, and last night the Herts Charity Shield.

Also as the "Season" is over most of the 1st Team will be away on Sat 14th to Spain for a well earned "Rest" /"Beano".

Where would that leave us if the "Play Off" involved us next week when we wouldnt have a 1st Team to put out ?

Would the authorities allocate us a goal start, say for every 2 First team players not available>

I cant see it can you.
