According to the vibes I am getting by this post, there seems little problem getting over the Dartford Bridge to visit 8 Kent/South of the Thames club at this Step 4 level so can I guage the feeling of what folk would think if a Kent/Essex merger comes off at Step 5 .. but before you say anything, I know there are 30 clubs between the two leagues with only room for 22, but that aside, reaction please ?

we have had some good games in kent this season against Dartford , erith , sittingbourne and chatham - what i will say is that Kent senior clubs attract large crowds and have a lot of travelling fans which would be great for the income of essex senior league clubs

If I remember correctly we had some discussion a while ago about a new level 5 league amalgamating ESL Essex and Kent League teams.

At that time the point was made that it would be sensible to restrict across the river games to Saturdays while mid week fixtures would be restricted to their own side of the river.

A few posters seemed to warm to this idea.

maybe you could trial it by getting rid of one of the s*it cups with all those group games and having and essex/kent fa cup style comp every year
