I had a look round up there this morning.According to press statements apparentley a license of some sort is required for the topsoil or something. But there is still a hell of a lot of prepratory work to be done, forgetting about the pitch but the surrounding areas where the stand and terracing is to go etc.Why is the surface in these areas not being prepared. We hear all sorts of stories about heavy machinery is en route, topsoil is coming, drainage work is to start on the 5th May,licenses are required etc, etc, etc.I think we have a right to a statement from the Club.Time is running short, other Clubs are preparing for the next campaign,we dont even know if we can sign any new players. As for waiting for the outcome of the Council meeting on I believe the 18th of this month,I think we all know what the decision will be,so exactly where do we stand!!!FAIR QUESTIONS ANSWERS PLEASE !! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I noticed that they started work on the first stage ie flattening the ground a bit late. Perhaps they are out of synch at the moment. It is slightly unnerving to see a lack of movement on the site.

You're right, they could be getting on with stuff other than the actual pitch... But then this isnt an easy project to organise...perhaps they are having dificulties getting everyone to follow the same timetable.

Yes I am an anon but also have no wish to slate the club. What I would say is that you have to be realistic and start pressing the club not so much on the ground redevelopment as I am 100% certain this will not be ready on time but that is not the end of the world. What would be is if you had no short term measure in place should that happen i.e. groundshare in place.

The reason behind my thinking is that so many clubs are worried about whether they will be ready in time when they are literally months and months ahead of Margate.

It rather invites the question - can TDC legitimately allow building work on any scale to commence by an organisation that is under anadministration order?

i think its mfc thats in administration not the company thats building the ground(margate and london cevelopment company) or something like that

You lot are having a panic attack about nothing.

Kp was seen talking to the developer and groundsman this morning. Work would never start on a friday, saturday or sunday. Today is monday and yes nothing has happened yet but start panicing on Wed or Thurs when nothing has happened. Stop spreading panic chaps. MFC has nothing to do with margate and london development company and thus the administration will not affect the rebuilding of hdp. MFC entered administration to protect the likes of GL and Margate and London development co.

Get behind the club, support them, have faith and stop being negative untill all hope fades.

Up the gate!

MARGATE PHIL has a point. Id feel a little beter if all parties, the club and the council, would be a little more open with the fans, who put their money and heartfelt support in the club.

I think eyeballpaul doesnr quite realise that if Margate FC has to go into receivership, that will be the end of the club. No more Margate FC. The only football club in Thanet will be Ramsgate.

So a business such as the builders, are building only 4 days a week? Considering that the stadium is supposed to be finished by July, only working 4 days a week doesnt fill me with optimism for the finish of the project before the start of the season.

Must be honest, the problem with everything in this complete farce is mentioned earlier.KP.there lies the problem.Because he cannot be in any kind of official position within any company or organisation.THAT IS FACT.I am not having a go at him,but he still seems to be controlling everything.I am afraid all the time we get nothing concrete from the Club, rumours and worries will flourish!!!!!!!

As I said in another post, there are not many of them, and I rather hope they are concentrating on the important things that need to be done, rather than worry about our insatiable need for news. When there is something to tell, I am sure they will tell it.

As George Eliot said, 'blessed be the man who, having nothing to say, refrains from giving us ample evidence of that fact.'

Anonymous above. How can you say in one breath that you are not getting at KP when immediately before that you mention that KP is the problem. In all your posts you have consistently dragged him down and put your anti views for him to us all. You obviously dont have a clue and are either jealous that he is up there steering the boat or that you cant let go of the past. Whatever he has been through is alike to many of us. Many of us have done things we regret. Many of us have made mistakes. But we have learned from them and gone on to be very nice sincere people and seeked better advice to avoid those possible mistakes occurring again. Am sure Keith regrets many things but the one thing he dosent reget I am sure is his input and desire to get this club forward. Its not been easy but sometimes despite those earlier mistakes or wrong decisions, like we have made in our lifetimes, people should not always be judged on them. He is the right man for the club,no matter role its in and if you could just see a little bit of the good in him you could well make a better contribution to this forum and understand the importance of him, someone, taking the reins. Who else would have done it? NO -ONE!

Stop using him as a scapegoat when in truth his desires are merely for the club, its exsistence and its future.Delays by certain parties have not helped in this matter but KP has stuck with it because he CARES. Cares about this club. You do this man a grave injustice I think. Try and give him the benefit of the doubt if nothing else.

You seem to have your blinkers on and THAT IS FACT!!

And before you say it I am not a KP NUT but can see all the effort he is putting in to get this club back and running and going forward again not just to where we came from but beyond. Credit where credits due surely.
