Album of the (nearly) Year?

I may not be a big fan of her's but the 'can't get you out of my head' video was one I always had time for. I thought the SFA 'Juxtaposed With U' Video was pretty cool (why they left that version out of DVD baffles me). Basement Jaxx did 'Where's your head at' didn't they do a video which was like a Bolywood movie??

I saw Kloot at the Scala and under in tent in Spain, they're great live, would recommend their album, 'Natural History', yes they are part of the 'We love you' lable, so whoever heard that promo is likely to have heard them.

There are a few major live highlights for me:

Roger Waters - Comfortably Numb - Glasto

Robert Plant - Going to California(or Wolverhampton)-Glasto

U2 - Pride - Birmingham NEC

Faithless - We come 1 - Glasto

Coldplay - Yellow - Glasto

Radiohead - Idioteque - Benicassim, Spain

Oasis - Wonderwall - Knebworth

SFA - The Man Don't Give a F*** - Cambridge

Probably the best was Radiohead doing Creep as an encore at South Park last year, fantastic!!

Very good indeed, Radiohead, Beta Band, Kloot, Supergrass, Muse and The Doves.

It wasn't too expensive either, £65 for the tickets and about £170 getting there. I think the acts they had there were great but it doesn't really rival Glastonbury as a venue.

Benicassim had a town which didn't rape you on prices and a beach that was fantastic for the one day is was hot. Glastonbury was bit more charismatic, but I would go back to Benicassim if they had the right line up.

It's been a good year for festies, my first visit to Glasto and first concert outside the UK, both very good. I will do Glasto next year, hopefully I'll catch up with some of you chaps there...

Only thing I did see was an aldershot town flag when Rolfie Harris strut his stuff and at The other stage for Hundred Reasons.

As I said I saw the Foos just after Reading along with Ash, that was a hell of a gig. The only gigs left this year for me are Coldplay at the NEC and Jeff Beck/Roger Waters/White Stripes at Royal Festuval Hall. I think the Manics and the Foos are touring and I might catch them too.

1. Doves - The Last Broadcast (incredibly, Lost Souls, their first album, is in my view equally as good)

2. Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head

3. Electric Soft Parade - Holes In The Wall (disappointed that no-one's mentioned this yet)

HI for all those people who went to reading this year, who in your opinion had the best performances. Mine, were:

1.foo fighters

2.Ash=offspring

3.muse

4.feeder

5.white stripes

6. strokes-although they did seem to lacklustre somewhat

7.'A'

8.hundred reasons

9.soundtrack of our lives

10.The Music

other highlights had to be the prodigy,NOFX(purely for entertainment factors, along with less than jake),mouldy peaches, pulp(although only saw about two songs) the mighty hell is for heroes and surprisingly The Breeders!

Did anyone else who went see jimmy eat world or ....trail of dead cos i missed them for muse and the offspring. did i miss much?

However,Slipknot were CRAP.(Although funny-I'm sure I saw the clown guy w***ing off down the front)

Seen BRMC live twice this year and they seem bad live, I was a bit annoyed, I even like their album. Dandy Warhols were also a bit shocking at Glasto, they didn't really put in a lot of effort at all.

Saw Muse in Spain and they were special, it's a bit operatic at times, but it turns out that little Matt Bellamy fella is quite talented. White Stripes were quite cool live too, they look like they come from a very odd family....

Chubbhead, how were 'Soundtrack of Our Lives' I get to think they'd be good to watch?

SteveP-Soundtrack of our lives were excellent-number 9 on my list above! I only knew one of their songs(surround sister) and the singer reminds me of friar Tuck but they were really good, had a lot of energy.I have to agree with you on the subject of BRMC. I saw them when I went to see Oasis-who were amazing!-and I too was disappointed. Also agree with you on Muse, matt bellamy is a rock god. They always remind me of a prog-rock band but in a good way!
