[The Caretaker]

After last nights play off games and those to come I just wondered if the club has anyone who is in contact with schools and clubs in Hertfordshire with regard to up and coming young players.

 

Just thought I'd ask as I remember some players from the Herts Under 16 side of 4 years ago -

 

Nedweski (cant spell it but son of former Chelsea goalkeeper) - last seen playing in goal for Arsenal youth / reserves at Clarence Park

 

Dean Sinclair - now in the football league with Barnet

 

Jamie Slabber - equalised last night for Aldershot (this is what made me think of the whole situation) before Challinor went on to miss the crutial penalty

 

Robbie Simpson - a key member of Cambridge City's good season. Might well be back today after foot injury.

 

Scott Atkinson - played for the reserves and is now with Hornchurch for next season

 

Jake - you all know about Jake

 

I'm sure there are more who have gone on to this level and I will try to find out to add to this list.

 

Interesting to think they all went to school and played their football locally yet not one is with our club.

 

Do we have anyone who is looking into these areas as a way forward.

Any idea what happened to Ben Cogger? Is he back in Australia? He was another who, given the time and opportunity would have gone onto great things (imo).

Sorry Rob, no idea.

 

Was last heard of at Harrow but Ben lived in Oxford so I would imagine he has found somewhere closer to home.

 

I've got his number so I'll call him later today and find out......and I agree by the way
