If you're going to be pining to see a game next weekend, how about joining us at Chesham United on Sunday 15th at 3pm?

A celebrity team managed by Luther Blissett is playing the Sky Dream Team in aid of the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH). The celebs team is going to include Ralf Little, John Barnes and Alec Stewart, amongst others.

A family ticket (2 adults and 3 kids) is only £10 (£5 for adults) and proceeds are going to a great cause. Details are here... http://www.irhh.org/home/homepage.htm

Sue - I've just checked and they've said you can pay on the day.

I also read on their website.......

"Luther has offered one lucky person the chance to play in the game on Sunday 15th May 2005 at CUFC. For your chance to play, all you have to do is send your name and address with a donation to the charity. Address the envelope ‘Celebrity Football Match, 52a Western Road , Tring, Herts HP23 4BB'. The first name out of the hat on Thursday 5th May will play alongside Luther's celebrity eleven."

Tempting!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

0-0 draw with the game won by Harchester 4-3 on penalties.

The funniest bit was the female spectator, who'd won the opportunity to play, took one of the penalties. The referee put the ball almost on the six yard line for her to take it (slightly patronising) which she took exception to and stood disagreeing with him for about 30 seconds asking for it to be put back on the proper penalty spot. In the end she gave up and just stuck it in the corner anyway!

A pleasant afternoon out in the sunshine with 7 or 8 Rebels shirts on show.

re: lady who was given the chance to take the penalty...too right! am well on her side there... i know it was probably done in good faith "for her benefit" but i would have thought if she said "thanks for the offer but i'd rather take it from the spot" she should've been allowed to. personally think it was done to save the face of the keeper so that when she inevitably stuck it in they could say "well she did take it from the six yard line...."

tsk tsk

By Accident!

Someone looks like they'll get murdered as well next week thanks to the "Coming soon" bit at the end...A sink full of blood!

You think supporting your own side his hard...well look at Harchester about 20 players dead, Won the FA Cup, Coach crash, Murder on the pitch at Wembly, A player jumping off the stadium, Contract killings, Loads of 'wife swapping' and loads of last second goals!
