Congratulations to Justin, Matt and the team as I cannot recall a single Ricay player being sent off this season, also yellow cards were few and far between compared to other clubs, an excellent achievement in the current environment of 'easy to be booked situations'.

Two players picked up suspensions over the course of the season - Keiran and Pat... both for 5 bookings. I think Macca may have accumulated 5 as well, but only after the deadline for such things... I think it's pretty likely that had Goths not been stretchered off at Staines he would have been sent off.

All things considered though it's a good record... Particularly in the middle part of the season when we had a fairly small squad it was important that we didn't make things difficult for ourselves by picking up suspensions.

Typical ricay celebrating a lack of bottle, I can just imagine fergie saying to scholes or wenger to Viera or Jose to Lamps or me to my under 13s.

Well done old bean we never won bugger all but you did not make any rash challenges resulting in a caution.

I would rather be sitting here in this league with a good disciplinary record than play with those rough boys in the conference.

So what exacly do you tell your under 13's?

Or is that private?

Celebrating? Us? no way. commenting on a good disciplinary record, yeh why not? This is a forum anyone is free to comment, but I really cant see what point you bring to the subject NOB

That is indeed a record to be proud of. Well done to the management team at New Lodge for demanding high standards of conduct from their players and themselves.

Who gets sent off for making tackles any more? Unless you clatter somebody from behind in the area it just doesn't happen. This season we've seen players sent off for abusing the ref (Braintree), diving (Braintree), "Handbags" (Hendon), kicking oppo (Flackwell), elbowing oppo (Harrow) etc etc

I think we've seen more players booked for kicking the ball away than for tackling this season!

Is this the sort of behaviour you encourage in your under 13s?

(Of course on NYD Leyton managed to get 2 players sent off for clattering from behind in the area.)

A great dispilinary record is something to be proud of. Shows we play the game in the correct way...hard and fair.

I think that you should have a trophy for the commendable season that you have had in the discipline stakes....

we shall call it the MOB Trophy and it will be given to the team in essex with the best disciplinary record throughout the season...

we should also have another one called 'The Mob Great Escape Trophy' which would be given to the team that survives relegation by the skin of their teeth each year....

its permanent home would of course be canvey but hey....thats football....

It was hardly a skin of your teeth job. Needing to win on the last day and then hoping the other guys lose just to stay up is skin of the teeth!!
