Supporters Club Bust Up

Laz

Recommended Posts

I've heard from a reliable source that the Supporters Club Travel Executive lambasted the Supporters Club Chairman for getting pissed up on the coach home from Weymouth.

The coach firm made a complaint about vandalism on the coach and the finger was pointed at the Supporters Club Chairman.

So I've heard.

I don't like to spread rumour, mind.

As one who was there (the meeting that is, not on the coach) I don't think 'the finger was pointed at the Supporters Club Chairman' as such but at the 'unruly behaviour' on board in general. Some minor damage to the toilet was mentioned. A similar occurrence happened on the Letchworth coach apparently but steps are being taken to prevent this happening again. So there.

I was under the impression that if you were discreet about it then that was OK (turn a blind eye etc). The thing is, I've been on the coach quite alot this last season, and there's been no trouble. There's only been "incidents" twice, and both these times were "big" occasions. One where we'd just won a cup final and one where it was the last game of the season. People are bound to get excited when it's events like these. I mean it's not like the coach got trashed. I bet far worse things happen when a group of school kids get taken to Blackpool Zoo (or whatever the southern equivalent is!!).

I know the police are getting stricter about these things (even walking to grounds - you probably won't be able to go into a pub if you even like football soon), but I was under the impressions that their main concern are bigger teams with problematic fans, not lil' old SACFC.

So you can drink on a coach that is not going to a sporting event? Well, I'm up for a bit of town exploring next year - and I might just pop in and watch a game of football if it takes my fancy. I won't be going for the football you understand.

No alcohol on coaches for any event not just sports. This applies in Europe as well as in the UK. Minimum fine is indeed £2000

Lots of drivers / companies turn a blind eye if it is kept within reason but I have witnessed the odd rugby tour over the Easter weekend which is another matter altogether so I am not sure the police would pull a coach over for such an offence unless things were of a very serious nature.....threatening behaviour, bottles out of the window etc.

So ...... back to travelling by car and just drive home pi**ed.

Bring back the good old days

Oh dear!! Alcohol has been allowed on the Canvey Supporter's coach for several years apart from the c..t of a coach driver who banned it on the trip to the Trophy final.

Bloody hell we've been to the likes of Carlisle, Halifax, Exeter etc and the police have turned a blind eye. Been through the tolls at Dartford which is full of coppers brazenly clutching my can of Skol (John Smith's really but I'd thought I'd get that in before Laz!!!) and nobody has taken any notice.

I thought it depended on the coach company.
