Sorry to ruin your illusion Clive but this messageboard is very much connected to the official Slough Town website, which is very much connected to the club. It is not often that Gary or the other mods are asked to remove some messages, but occasionally it does happen and when necessary we comply. This does not mean we listen to every request for messages to be removed - I for example recall a time when a local councillor asked for a specific thread to be expunged but this request was turned down.

The debate about anonymous postings goes on and on and you have made your point about this very clear. You and others are of course entitled to your view that you'd rather this place was registration only. My opinion is that this may have some success but wouldn't stop people from registering a neutral name and continuing to be a wind up merchant. I also think this would be a poorer place without anonymous postings. We probably would not have had the message from Alex Haddow when he left the club, if he had to go through the registration process. We may not have had the heartfelt message from Veli Hakki before he left us a few years ago if he had to register. We may have had less interaction with fans of Walsall in the build up to the cup game if we closed the door to anonymous postings.

So we have one or two regular contributors who say things that the majority of people get agitated about, big deal. No offence is intended here to Mark44 or Dave programmes but when I see a message with their name I tend to skip past it. If you are so frustrated by anonymous posters are you not able to do the same?

Football is a game of opinions, if we all had the same it would be very boring and be the death of our national sport. If somebody has a different opinion to you, debate it or ignore it rather than cry foul at anonymous postings. This may come across that I am an 'Optimistic' sympathiser, which is not true. I struggle to recall many points made by this poster that I have agreed with. But that does not mean I or the other mods should ban them. If we were going to go down that route Radders would have been banned for nearly three seasons because of his love of Ryan Spencer!

I await the backlash from the anti-anonymous brigade.

As BFR says, making it registration only will not stop nonsense postings by people like optimistic. What's to stop me getting a hotmail address of optimistic@hotmail.com then registering on here under the name optimistic? People still wouldn't be any wiser as to who I was, not that I understand why anyone should really care about sad and lonely people like opti.

Like BFR suggests, I just skip over opti's posts as they clearly don't have the courage to put their name to their views. If people want them to stop I suggest they do the same otherwise you're just fuelling their ego's. Opti doesn't know any more about football than Richard Stokes.

I've eased my stance on the anons debate after the 'money' thread was deleted. As long as posts which are deliberately inflammatory i.e. about the financial side and running of the club at board level which are none of our business then I'll let it slide. I do however retain my rights to flame any anonymous poster who talks rubbish and doesn't leave their name

Until there is a clear communication from the Chairman of the club about what is happening with the clubs future I will not be renewing Mine or Williams Season Tickets.

I will no longer be using this forum until it returns to an independant FANS forum free from interferance from the club.

I await a statement from the Chairman.

Get a grip.

Forums need to have some form of rules and regulations. In fact I am a member of a forum which has stricter rulings than this because the company wants to protect itself, and everybody on it abides by them. They know the consequences if they don’t.

Would you like rumours spreading about yourself regardless of them being true or otherwise?

Has it ever been independent? It's always been accessible via the official site and I can understand the club wanting internal club matters taken off the forum.

As for Martyn communicating, don't hold your breath. I've gone past expecting any sort of ststement from the club and shall carry on doing my best to raise funds and support the Trust wherever possible assuming it's status quo until we're told otherwise.

I'm not sure boycotting games etc is anything more than cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You'll be waiting a long time then Clive.

I think you're being rather hypocritical in your stance as well. The thread that was removed was started by an anonymous poster - the likes of whom you would like banned. You can't have your cake and eat it.

This IS a fans forum. However if there are things said which are way out of line then they are removed. When The Best was trying to stir things up about Veli I removed those posts without direction, but if I hadn't then I am sure the club would have asked them to be removed. Would you have got upset about that too?

This forum is as liberal as 'official' messageboards get. When there is criticism of players it stays, when there is criticism of the management it stays, when there is criticism of Deaner it stays. None of this is to the liking of the club but it stays because without that sort of discussion there is no forum. Is it really so out of line for a few half-baked truths to be removed from here concerning money?

I'm sorry that you feel the need to take this stance Clive, but this forum has always been open to a limited amount of censorship. I'd like to think that Gary, Chris and myself do a very good job as moderators as we seldom intervene. However, there is a thin and flimsy line about what is acceptable. Random comments about player bonuses really shouldn't be the concern of the supporters.

I'll be sad if you refrain from contributing to this board over this issue

Well said- I think you two do well in removing the 'libellious' and/or often false posts (The second i saw a post 'accredited' to one of our players i was concerned) but unfortunately if you ban anon posters (As was said earlier in the thread) they will just create a bogus account- ok easier to track and know which 'anon' posted what but still the same as allowing unreg posters. The only way to avoid that would be a registration via our supporters club numbers!

Looks more like Staines Rebel is pi$$ed off with the club than the site, and the club only liking nice things said, but we dont mind taking your money attitude.
