I just wanted to take the opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported Thomas and I over the past, very sad, shocking and difficult, few weeks. The posts on the forum pages, the hundreds of cards, the extremely generous donations and those that attended his funeral or the game on Monday have all been completely overwhelming. I was so proud of him anyway but to have all the tributes to show Thomas in years to come is really comforting and although he will never know his dad he will be able to learn about him from me, family, friends and all of you too.

Paul idolised Thomas and spent so much time looking after him and telling him what they would be doing together in the future, playing golf, football, cricket, even going to the pub and those things have so cruelly been taken away from Thomas but I know that friends and family will be doing that on Paul's behalf.

The very generous donations that I have received will be put away for Thomas to ensure that his future is secure just as Paul would have wanted it.

My life has changed forever but I still intend to take Thomas to watch non league football next year as it was a huge part of my life too and who knows in years to come little Thomas may be out there playing the game his dad loved so much.

Thank you once again from both myself and Thomas

lets hope so, havent taken my band off since game and have no intentions of doing so, for so many these bands are becoming a fashion statement but for those of us who bought them from yourself they mean something and are being worn for a very special person and reason the 1 thing that little thomas can do is, when he's older, look back and see what a special part of non league football Paul really was and how much he was admired!!

the pain is still there but will fade in time

Carly, the way you conducted yourself at the game on Monday was so brave, and my heart went out to you, but also you have my heartfelt admiration for coping so well on such an emotional occasion.

Paul will live on in Thomas, and in your memories, and in time I wish with all my heart that you and your beautiful little boy find the happiness you both so truly deserve.
