I think the name is Keith Piper. Is he related to the current Margate Director Leon Piper or is it just coincidence? Im not saying hes to blame for all of it but his name certainly comes up a lot round where I work (near Hartsdown Park) and not in a positive tone!

Hope that enlightens most recent anonymous.

Its a positive tone to us gate fans and thats what really counts. Outsiders dont really know the score. They just guess, assume and want to believe that he is a man unto himself. At first I too was dubious about him but having got to know the man can say with some certainty that he is as genuine as they come and his past should not be held against him as his number one thought is for this football club. No matter what your opinions, though you are entitled to them, he is a man of the club and was and is the only one who stood up and is still standing for this clubs exsistence and future. To those that dont really know,he is

without a doubt our saviour. Without his input we may not be here now to post on this forum. Give the guy some slack why dont you. Understand who it is, no matter what, who has given us all hope for a future again. Decisions made in the first place were for the future and ambition of this club to move forward and though we have taken a couple of steps back to do it his endeavour will see us rise again with that ambition fulfilled.

I wish I could agree with you on fulfilling ambition. I fear, but hope otherwise, that this may well be the end.

If the name isnt Keith Piper, perhaps anonymous would like to say which name does appear? As for my views on Keith Piper, isnt he still a financial advisor to the club, despite his bankruptsy? I think the club got too ambitious too quickly and has overstretched itself.

I would love to think much better of him I truly would, but the decisions made by the club havent been the best ones. Building a football stadium which it cant afford, nor can it provid the necessary paperwork for, is not the done thing.

You are surely safe from receivership - that is the majority of football clubs can take this course of action as they do not own anything. Looking at your football club, one can only conclude that there is nothing that anyone can take and therefore you are safe. The only thing that might happen is that the administrator may suggest the sacking of CK on the basis that he is (repordedly) on a very good salary. You could put the case that to survive in the tin pot league you are now in, you can have a tin pot manager. You could also argue that Dover appointed a Sunday league manager with Sunday league players for the very same tin pot league and got their fingers burned very badly.

The ultimate suffering that the club will suffer is local businesses being unwilling to provide services to MFC for a period.

I dont think so...no business is safe from receivership. If the club cannot pay the bills, it has to be wound up. Any asset it owns will have to be sold off, for whatever can be gleaned from it. Simple as that. Receivership is very possible for MFC.

No I wouldnt be happy. Margate needs a football club. Its part of Thanets heritage. Im just stating what could happen. While I want the club to come back the way it was and to succeed, right now it doesnt look too promising. The club is in administration because it doesnt have enough money...thats the reality of the situation. The stadium has to be built in time for the next season or else serious repercussions could occur.

If we get the ground there is no reason why we cant get out of administration. MFC will make money from gate receipts, sponsorship, the youth section and many other sources.

Over the last 3 -4 years or so weve lost money from all of these. With JP leaving and no replacement its no wonder we are in this situation.

We were doing o.k till parmiter came . He became Chairman moved us out of hartsdown ,left, went back to Dover. Got them relegated . He must be worse than Risdale. It's HIS fault.

What I find unassuring is the word if...if we get the ground. My fear is that the stadium wont be ready in time, meaning the authorities will have something to say and Margate could be penalised. Along with that bills will still have to be paid. If those sources of income arent re-established, the club will be in dire straits financially.

Delays in the grounds building are potentially crippling. Thats why we are getting so worried about it...without the ground, the club is doomed.

Dont know why it concerns you,or me.If the club has gone into admin,so be it,do you not think that they might have been forced into it and if so why not do it now it seems right to me that they should do this, why start next season with a - 10 points. You anon post on the Margate forum under no name, you know Jack S#i#

I agree...the club was going to get docked 10 points anyway...theres no point in starting the season 10 points back. At that stage, the club was bordering the edge. It would be worse starting 10 points down at the start. Its not fair on the players.

To think the club was in mid table in the Conference only a few years ago...they'll go back up to the Conference South next year Im certain. Margates got a good enough squad.
