Goalposts mystery baffles police

Kent Police say someone's goalposts have been moved but they are baffled that no one has come to claim them.

Three large sports bags containing sets of goalposts were found in a road near Tonbridge town centre in March.

 

Officers say they probably belong to a club or group but no one has reported them missing and all efforts to trace the owners have failed.

 

The red bags have three logos, including the FA emblem, and the words "The FA Top Sport Football Programme".

 

It is not clear whether the bags were left at the roadside because someone forgot to load them into a vehicle or whether they were stolen and then abandoned.

 

A Kent Police spokeswoman said if the bags were not reunited with their owners they would be sold at auction with other property and the proceeds given to charity.
