if we are moved to southern premier

how would this bode ? could we then play at Wexham Park...if a deal could be struck for a temperory solution ??? is the landlord and tennancy act in place with this league ??? or could we do a yearly deal...with Byron..as he was dead against a 7 year deal ???

if what or why ??? ..... any body know what the southern premier rules are on this ???

I have personally tried to make contact with Byron but no result yet...would STFC want to return to Wexham without any future plans in place ??? would people then think we have achieved a repreive in the short term ??

and not fight for a new future ??

All things we should be thinking about over the summer months...

We need direction on how to go forward.....

Food for thought ???

what do you think the trust should be doing ??

let me know....

Chris, I'm not sure how a yearly agreement will suit us either short or long term. Potentially, it could leave us in a very precarious position over a summer if Byron suddenly had a change of heart and decided he didn't want us there any more, what would we do then? Clubs would know that we needed a ground and could effectively bump up their rent prices to us.

A return to Wexham Park would have to be favourable over and above what we're getting at the moment from sharing at Windsor. Chances are the pitch would be better due to less teams playing on it, perhaps more gate money through a slight increase in attendances which could effectively help the playing sides (and of course two covered ends!! Yey!). I think it could be good for us for a few years deal (definitely not year to year) if we can actually get some other revenue streams in from it. Again though, without having spoke with Byron, what's to say he's interested in having us there at all?

Should the trust not be working with the club thought to gauge their thoughts and feelings on the matter? There's no point in the trust going gung ho in one direction if the people running the club (Deaner? Roy?) are against it. As you've said many times before, we all need to be pulling in the same direction on this.

When we first struck the sharing deal with Windsor, we signed into a three year deal with them which Martyn agreed to honour for the rent. I think we should be looking for what to do next summer (May 2006) but starting to try and plan for that now, difficult as that may be. Far too often, things have been reactive at this club rather than pro-active.

It doesn't really matter which division we are in Chris, we are going to face the same issues as ground regulations are becoming standardised at each level in the pyramid.

Click here and you will get the rough idea of what we need.

Mr Deaner clearly does not want to involve the supporters at this stage. Perhaps the most obvious option is to speak with Roy and see if there is anything he wants the supporters or the trust to do over the summer.

At the end of the day the goal for the club has to be to get a permanent home in the borough suitable for at least Connie South football.

Also bear in mind Chris that being on the border we could be switched from the Ryman to the Southern (and vice versa) every third year.

good- keep the debate going its just what eventually what we might have to think of...point taken that we should be pulling in one direction- granted and wexham park looks ok for short term..and security and our furture need to be number one priority...

I do think if we could secure a short term deal to return to Wexham Park (3 years minimum) which would allow us to gain income from the car boot, driving range and bar/banqueting facilities then yes, it's a good idea. Otherwise, would we really be any better off?

If you did go back to WP you'd need alot of work done to it judging by the photo's of it i've seen. The bar/hall is all vury nice but would the club get the takings from them?

The danger, as has been mentioned before, if we got back to Wexham Park even in the short term is that people would think the struggle is over. In many ways we're better off staying in exile until a permanent solution can be found to ensure everyone stays focused.

I think we should move back to Wexham Park, even if only temporarily - it will increase crowds and atmosphere.

I know it might confuse some people into thinking that we are now ok, but i'm hoping that in few years times the muppets in charge of the council will get the boot, and some more slough town friendly councillors will be back in place to help us look for a home.

ps i don't want to go to the southern league!

if a favourable deal can be reached where we can make even a marginal income from the site then I'm all for it. If we can't then it's best to stay where we are and see if we can sort out a new arrangement with Windsor.

You've got to remember that we were ground-sharing (pretty much) at Wexham Park for 5 years before going into exile and nowt happened, so do we want that situation to raise itself again?

I have to agree that whilst a return to WP would be wonderful, in the right circumstances. It could cause other problems, ie false sense of security, problem gone away. What could there possibly be in it for Martyn Deaner? And as someone else pointed out who's to say we won't get switched back to the Ryman at the next opportunity. At least all the time we are in exile we are keeping the matter in the public eye.

I only don't understand how people can't know. Is it just an assumption that everything is ok? In the past year we have held demonstrations outside the town hall, handed out leaflets in the High Street, had our best season for publicity ever - a featured match on MOTD that mentioned our homeless state and articles in the national press. The local press coverage particularly from the Observer has also been excellent. What more can the club and the supporters do to make our plight known?

Hmm not really..i'm just turning grumpy in my old age!

It just seems these days unless you are a Ethnic minority you are on you own when it comes to backing by local councils. It's a PC nation gone mad! Scary thing is people feel the same and the BNP are getting more and more voters.

As soon as i leave this god-forsaken country the better! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

And Woody is probably right.

What was funny was Janik last year tried to imply that as we only got gates of a few hundred and were therefore of interest to only a minority of people we could not expect the council to do much to help.

And there was me thinking that you couldn't penalise minority groups.

Sorry Woody, I just don't believe this crap about ethnic minorities being treated better and in any case the whole town is made up of people who have migrated to Slough for work - my family are a mix cockneys and ex Welsh miners. If you want to moan about foreigners, have a go at people like Rupert Murdoch who rip off the tax system for billions.

(The Economist reported that Murdoch had made £1.4 billion in profits over the previous 11 years but had paid no corporation tax. After an examination of what was available of the accounts, it reckoned Murdoch would normally have expected to pay enough tax to “build seven new hospitals, 50 secondary schools or 300 primary schools”.)

Anyway, whats this got to do with football?

The muppets in charge don't like football, and they like the Labour party even less. They wouldn't care if the Slough team and its supporters were pink, green, black or blue or a bunch of lesbian donkeys.
