After the final whistle

Recommended Posts

Can anyone from Enfield Town or W Abbey shed some light on the following;

From a source at Barkingside

After the cup final there was several players seen entering the referees room. The clothes of the officials were piled on the floor and urinated on. Thus ensuring that the officials went home in the kits.

Secondly from a source at Barkingside. Shower tiles were kicked off after the match and a door removed?

Is there any grounds to this?

Names have been mentioned but I will not divuldge them as this is not the place for that and I personally did not witness the events. If it is all tosh please let me know. I just wondered if you heard anything?

i dont know about any of this stuff...

what i will say is it was a bit out of line that some enfield town players ran straight into the dressing room after the final whistle. i can understand the dissapointment as we have been in the same position this season but all our team stayed on the pitch to congratulate waltham abbey and witness them receive their trophy. i must emphasise it was only a few players. most stayed out.

i think the result would have been very had had pinnacle(i think it was him) had not made a great headed clearance off the line at 1-1. at 2-1 towners there wud have only been one winner in my eyes. still towners have what matters, the league championship and therefore promotion. waltham abbey have both their cups plus whatever else they win therefore entrance into EUFA cup. or will they have to play intertoto??

Do you mean the Gallas-like clearance at 1-0, just before the break? Most of us behind the goal thought that was over the line but unfortunately the young linesman didn't agree. Any views from Pinnacle, Chalky et al on that one?

Gazza first of all it ain't bollox mate, something did occur, unless the officials have a phobia to showers, as they left the ground still in there kit!!!

As for the debate of whether it was whether it wasn't a goal, in my eyes it wasn't i thought Lee Sontag did well to get his body in the way, still a bit confused how the Ref gave a Corner as i believe it was your player (Penn) that put it over the bar,

I think your manager is in cloud nine, after reading the comments on here, the fans state that Abbey adapted better to the conditions, however your gaffer quotes in the Advertiser "when we equalised we looked like we win comfortably"

4-1 yep you LOST comfortably

I didn't think it was over the line, the Abbey thoroughly deserved to win & all of our players should have stayed to see you guys get your trophy & not sulk off like spoilt brats.

not the one in the 1st half tom.i was level with it and it was not over the line in my opinion.some very brave defending.it was strange tho cos it stemmed from wen the keeper punched it it it went backwards. wudnt have surprised me if the whistle went for a foul.

the one im talking about was in second half at 1-1. one of the wabbey boys must remember it. was a great cleareance. as good as 2 goals.

BNR1 can't remember that goal line clearance mate, however Pinn is the best person to tell you who it was, i know for one it weren't me,

Chopper unlucky with the penalty mate, but you simply don't save them ones, especially when you go the wrong way!!
