if you go on the southern league forum someone (anonymously , cowards in my book ) is branding you as relegation favourites , i was surprised to see no one had responded so i thought id bring it to your attention !!

Who cares what other supporters are saying. We need to strengthen our squad but even as we are we have beaten a number of teams in higher leagues over the last four seasons. If we go up (and who knows now after the latest FA farce) I reckon we'll hold our own and finish mid table. Of coufrse, if we strengthen dramatically, who knows!!1

I've seen a few teams from that league this season & they weren't as good as the top four in the ESL, I think we'll be comfortably mid-table.

MMIM, where is this SL forum? I can't see anything of this in the SL section of this website.

Comfortably mid table with our current squad. I expect Jim to get a squad together by the start of the season, that can mount a strong promotion challange.Top half would be reasonable.Top 6 would be very good, but you must go to a league campaign with the aim of winning the thing.

MMIM, I have copied over the only item from that forum that could possibly match your description:

"Diver1830 Unregistered

Greetings all from PBT FC,
I dont want to sound too disingenuous yet,and with tongue placed firmly in cheek, but can EFT FC keep up with the amount of games they're going to have to play this year ?"

I read that as a reference to the number of games we would be expected to play in the much larger SL, when compared to the ESL. I do not see any implication there that ETFC would have any problem to stay in the SL Eastern Division 1(other than being promoted?).

The aim for next season must be to win every game!

But then reality sets in and it is to get promoted, and when that evades us it is to be in the play-offs, and then to be mid table.blah blah

Whilst we had a good enough sqaud to win the ESL, we will need a different squad to stay in the next level.(sweet FA permitting)
