The highest Margate average in the Conference is 1,200 and that was in 2001-02. Where's he getting his figures?!

Are you sure his not been mis-qouted. Surely a more accurate reflection would be:

"Last season we had an average gate of 180 and a deficit of £30,000. It's there to be done, and with a new ground we'd go from strength to strength."

Anyway good luck to the "Git" it wasn't their fans fault that it all went pear shaped, they only need to look into the boardroom. Similar thing to what happened to Maidstone.

The BBC have messed up - the figures quoted are correct, but for our FIRST season in the Conference when we were at Hartsdown. Just makes everything that's happened since even harder to take - the fact that we made a profit in our first Conference season.

It's still not correct, Margate's average attendance in their first season was 1,233 which was boosted by a crowd of over 3,000 for the match against Dover.

With only one gate over 1,800 you couldn't have averaged 1,700 unless you included a number of good gates in the cup as well.

Small club? we finished 8th 10th and joint 14th in our 3 years in the conf. Where did you finish? Bearing in mind we were ground sharing the last 2years and not paying the players the last year. I think that is some achievement. Fergy and Wenger could not have done better.
