Fair enough. As long as people don't start ignoring his excellent Ryman scoring record in favour of minute focus on his single Conference season with us, I have no objections, really. (Although I do realize that analysis of his Conference record is the issue at stake in this case.)

We should be looking at a much higher calibre of striker than Che im afraid to say. Manny came, originally, from a higher level and his class showed - when not injured. We need to be looking up the leagues and not neccessarily down. I do agree with regards to local talent - but we also need a guaranteed 20 goals with pace and flare etc and that will only come from a higher level.

 

I just think we need to be backing ourselves as a bigger club that has ambition and not that is happy to fight relegation next year with che tostao and aaron barnett!

Che did very well for us and without knowing the reason that he and Andy Ford fell out I felt that letting Che, Wilko and Liam go at the same time and with no replacements was probably the low point of A.F.'s time in charge. Che might not be a bad option to bring off the bench (I certainly think he has more goals in him than Pinnock) but bringing Che back into the starting line-up would be a backwards step.

I would certainly prefer Che to Ben Abbey. Yes Ben had pace & enthusiasm but Che had a better all round game

Excellent opinion there. A striker who has done it at a higher level & has 2 or 3 good years left in him is what we need, teamed up with a talented youngster with the hunger to succeed.

Once again, talk of the '20-goal-a-season striker' has resurfaced. As nice as that would be, I do sometimes wonder if this is beyond the club's current capabilities. Going full-time will hopefully change this, but as has been pointed out, we will now be competing against many other full-time clubs, superior to us, in the pursuit of such a striker.

Still, if Tamworth were able to pick up Bob Taylor, maybe it's not impossible (yes, I know he didn't quite make 20 goals this season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />).

Glad to see he's still well liked lol!

 

I never liked him when he was at Yeovil, I really didn't rate him in the slightest. Seemed extremely arrogant as well. never got a cross over in all his games for us, and we paid 10 grand for him!!! Waste of money that was!!!! Glad we got rid of him and I wouldn't wish him on anyone.
