What a load of fuc....

I agree the playoff system is unfair, but well done Leyton and good luck Saturday!

Our players were absolutely gutted!

I thought our support was very quite last 70 mins...well up to the final whistle anyway.

If it's on offer now, shall we take the 1st Round of the FA Cup and 3rd Round of the Trophy for next season?

Our new program anyone?...I thought it was quality

Somehow i dont think Ryan was commenting on the fairness of the play off system.

No offence TC, but you, Justin, the players etc cant have the same affiliation with the club that we fans do. Many of us have been supporting for many years (most a lot longer than me), and the pain at seeing a whole season going down the drain on the basis of one match is not something easily understandable.

Much as i love ya, its impoosible for you to be a 'fan; like us, in the true sense of the word.

Fair enough the cup runs were good, but theyre only a sideline. Its the league that defines a season, and on the basis of tonights result, next seasons league is going to be a lot different than it could have been. Thats a lot to take in in one evening.

But it sounds like TC was being fair by not getting himself dragged into the delusion mire. You are full time professionals - other clubs don't have that luxury, I even saw it suggested on another thread that your boys looked tired second half. What about the Leyton lads? They have careers away from football to contend with. I agree with TC the management have to take some blame for what has to be seen as a poor return considering the investment thats been made, Grays are full time, no play off lottery for them. I say thank God football and all its exciting twists and turns is alive and kicking not only in the Ryman but also in the Champions league. Being rational about football results is a discipline and nothing to do with disloyalty or not having fervour. Any old idiot can get carried away with things.

For once I agree with Oz. People react in different ways but to have a go at the players and manager at the end of the game wasn't really a great way to finish up the season... We're all disapointed, I didn't even sleep last night...well, not very well.

Despite the result last night was an opportunity for both players and supporters to congratulate each other on turning the club around from what was a disaster last season...alas, not to be...

Oh well, onward to next season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I thought the reaction to the players as they left the pitch was nothing short of a disgrace. This is the same group of players that got us to 2nd in the league, and come great cup runs. They didnt play well last night, created very little and probably didnt deserve the win but over the season the players have not let us down. To abuse the players like they were as they walked off was bad. I know people dissapointments were being expressed but the same players that were being slagged off were the same one that put us in the position of being able to compete in the play offs in the first place.

The treatment that Forbes got last night was out of order. If you dont think he is good enough then there is a time and a place to express you views but for our own fans to chant "off off" when he was about to be booked was wrong. He isnt going to gain confidence during a game this way.

Yes the players will feel a different kind of dissapointment than the fans, but the players will be devastated.

Personally, i would like to say well done to the players for what was, apart from last night, a very enjoyable season.

I agree with TC and oz as well...you have had a great season and Steve and his team have turned that club around from being on the doorstep of closure to losing a play off game last night...not to mention the great cup runs...

to say Jim that SK doesn't understand what being a fan is really all about in the same way that you do is utter nonsence really....I can assure you he does

I was disappointed for you as well as were most Urchins...we were really looking forward to playing you next season..but hey...its not to be....

we all get disappointed but its only one game of football...you have to look at the wider picture and although I wasn't at the game last night I had a pal there giving me a run down on things and undoubtedly apart from the 1st 20 minutes Leyton deserved to win....

I just hope that JE understands why his players (and presumably he as well) were booed off last night...

well done on a great season but well done to Leyton also...

I don't think Justin and the players do understand why they were booed off...I don't...

I'm dissapointed that we didn't win...it hurts like hell but what really leaves a nasty taste in my mouth is the reaction after the final whistle...

All I can say is that I'm proud of my team, my club and everything around it and would echo my and other senitments....

Well done and thanks for a great season

i agree gazza, the result was bad enough but for the lads to take that much stick was over the top. What makes it worse is that Im sure most fans did not abuse the players as they left the pitch just a shame that all the ones that did were the ones that congregated by the entrance to the changing rooms thus making the players very aware of their feelings.

For me the result is heartbreaking as it is for everone including the players, but the reaction was out of order and I hope it doesnt put off some of the younger promising players from sticking around next season. Afterall you dont know what you have got until its gone and a bit of gratitude goes a long way.

Oz... Hmmmm.

Just for the record. Our players are not full time. Some of the younger members of our squad take the opportunity to train Monday and Friday mornings.

What do grays have to do with us or our season, or Chelsea for that matter?

And please point out to me where I, or the management have made any comment re a poor season or lack of return on an investment.

I hate snide remarks...have the balls to be honest.

I didn't agree with some of the heat of the moment comments by certain fans last night, but I respect them for voicing their opinion...but you OZ..

Not usually one to post but after last nights display I feel I have to. I agree with Paulc and Gazza that the display was obviously dissapointing but the scene after were just stupid and that after all frustrations if it wasn't for the hard work put in by everyone, we wouldn;t have got as far as we have. I think its a shame that we didn;t all stand and clap the players at the end of a long and fairly sucessful season but instead some people resulted in abusing management and the players which I found embarassing and completely uncalled for. I did start to clap the players off the pitch until some bloke started abusing me asking why I was clapping a bunch of useless players (edited as you can tell). I have to say I did stop but only as I couldn't be bothered to get in an arguement with a so called Billericay supporter. The players faces as they left the pitch were as much in dissapointment as fear as they walked to the changing rooms with the amount of abuse being thrown at them. I hope the players and management read the forum I see that like most clubs theres always a few idiots that always get more attention than the real supporters. A disapointing end to the season not just on a footballing side.

Feel for you this morning TC. You've had a great season and have done tremendously well in turning your club's fortunes around.

You'll learn a lot from last night - Billericay Town FC is in safe hands and you can now spend the summer building on the solid foundations you've put in place.

Your club is a credit to you. Keep the faith.

exactly, last night was NOT the end of anything more the start of the future of the club. We were so poor last sesaon that had you offered me a runners up spot, FA Cup and trophy and a reliable chairman then there would have been no shortage of takers.

After last season I wouldnt have expected the club to have recovered the way it has and that is down the players and management on the pitch and the chairman off it. The fact we came so close this season off of the back of last seasons mess then you have to regard this as a success this season. The players would have learnt so much from this season, not least the fact that they would never want to feel the same dissapointment again. But not one of the players deserved that treatment last night and I hope there are a few people that feel prehaps they over reacted and feel a little ashamed of their comments last night.

Oops! TC sorry don't quite know why I suggested your name the second time in my post. My posting was more in regards to Cardiffs response to your own post. The rest of the stuff were merely general points I was making. I fully agree with IW's sentiments above.

People get angry in the heat of the moment so I dont think we can condem them too much. Put it this way we could easily have had a season like any of the clubs below the playoffs and how would we have liked that.

The only difference between Ricay and the mid table sides is the amount of time you spent in second place, then the marvellous win against City etc especially with Yeading faltering this year, it all served to give you so much hope and expectation its understandable you feel that what you had within your grasp has been stolen away in just 90 mins. For mid-table clubs supporters they came to terms with no promotion weeks or months ago and over a period of time.

It is also how you handle losing! Nobody likes it but people like a bad loser even less!

For any of you that read the papers there is a really good point made by Alan Smith ex Gooner today that refers to Liverpool supporters and how he will always have a soft spot for the sporting way in which they applauded the Arsenal players when they won the Championship at Anfield some years ago!

I am sure the Leyton Players especially their Keeper will not look back with anything but pleasure at rubbing our nose in it as to be totally frank the way we reacted to them winning was diabolical!
