Tonight v Leyton

I would just like to post a note of thanks and congratulations to Justin, the team and everybody connected to Billericay this season.

My own view was that tonight on the pitch we sorely missed the natural width thats Dorms or Kieran would have provided. We also missed a couple of early chances while on top that may have settled a few nerves.

In addition to that we came up against a Leyton team who really (credit to them) managed to raise their game when most needed. Just wonder if they can achieve that level of performance again this weekend.

Their number 4 seemed to be everywhere and they were a totally different proposition to the team (albeit down to 9 men) we beat 6-0 in December.

Although we lost 2-0 this evening it would have been fitting for us fans to have stayed and showed our appreciation of the seasons efforts to the players and Justin instead of drifting away and in certain pockets having a go at him and certain players.

I would agree. I have really enjoyed the season and a big well done to the lads is (was) in order...Shame the emotion has to be a downer but we have got next season to look forward to and the players will be older, wiser and more detirmind to do better next season.

Well done to the boys for a really enjoyable season...I am disapointed about tonight but...Well, for those that don't think that JE and the lads care didn't speak to them after the game and they do...

What are we congratulating Justin for? For getting us relegated and failing to get us promoted? We enjoy many advantages over other clubs. Most managers would've been sacked had they had Edinburgh's hand. As for the players, most aren't good enough, I hope most [****!!****] off.

Although I couldn't be there tonight, I share in the abject devastation of falling at the penultimate hurdle. I'm still hurting now in the small hours but, gradually, I'm able to put the whole thing into perspective.

I've really enjoyed this season, seen some wonderful entertainment (and a few woeful performances too). Justin had his hands tied behind his back last season in a baptism of fire, and I think the experience has stood him in good stead. The FA Cup and Trophy achievements were fantastic.

Let's not forget that, less than 18 months ago, there almost wasn't a club to cheer or jeer about! For me, that would be totally unthinkable. So my thanks to JE, his team and all the players. Our club has made great progress this season, not least off the field where we have a new clubhouse, bar and facilities. Well done and thank you to Steve and Sharon.

It's a good job it's only a game! .......isn't it?

Thoroughly disappointing, and i wasnt even there.

Cheers to TC, JE and the lads for a fun season, but it cant be viewed as a success. Then again, not a failure either. And as for wanting JE and half the squad out, well thats just bullsh*t as far as im concerned.

Oh well at least ive got cricket to keep myself entertained. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

See you in August lads.

why would you want the players to leave when they came 2nd in the league? surely its a sign that with a few improvements we can win the damn thing next season? Im sure a lot of our players could play at a higher level and I hope we can keep as many of them as possible and build from here.

Hard luck Rickay, I was rooting for you.

Ok Ive not seen you lot play this year but how can Ryan C have a go when your club has had it's best season for some years. Remember the games with Exeter etc.

What are you on Ryan C, football at this level is tough and your team has come out with loads of credit this year.

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE ALWAYS EXPECT PERFECTION, ONLT TWO TEAMS CAN GO UP AT THE END OF THE DAY!

Just like to say thanks to all involved with Billericay Town for giving us a great season. To be honest it wasnt the playoffs that stopped us getting promotion, it was some very poor performances every now and then which ensured we didnt pip Yeading as we should have, such as our first home game against Leyton.

Regardless this has been one of the best seasons I can remember and I am really looking forward to next season when I expect we shall build upon the good work done this year, both on and off the pitch.

Champions 2005/2006, you heard it here first!

Yep, not a bad season really. I suspect Ryan as one of our most loyal supporters took it pretty badly last night as again we didnt quite deliver when it really mattered. I'm sure if we keep the nucleus of the squad together and with a bit of fine tuning and the benefit of learning from experience, we'll go that extra mile next year. Let's hope Wimbledon end up in another league though!

PS: Congratulations to Justin & his players on going the whole season without a red card - doesn't win any points or prizes I know, but def something to be proud of at a dissappointing time.

I thought we started very well. We missed two clear headed chances. Leyton then managed to break the game up and we didn't seem to be able to find our stride again. It was disappointing Pat was still on the pitch at the time of their first goal - an identical scenario to that occurred last season and also cost us a goal. In the second half we again missed two clear headed chances from set pieces but mustered only one shot on target which was comfortably saved. Leyton played well in the second half and could/should have scored more but for some [****!!****] finishing and some good saves. Leyton deserved to win. Well done to them.
