it was either a goal, or a penalty and cech sent off missing the final (odds are they would have scored the penalty and Chelsea would have been in the same position but without Cech). on both games Liverpool were the better side, Chelsea attacked more but the Liverpool defense was superb. Chelsea should have put more effort in at Stanford bridge, well done Liverpool, just a shame they will get stuffed in the final

Okay so you can have a go at Chelsea for being a good defending team but not when were top of the league. But then Jose can' exactly have a go at Liverpool for their defensive play last night becuase they got the result.

Meanwhile Liverpool would swap league positions and their final place with what Chelsea have won this season. Remember Liverpool you haven't won anything yet, two trophies in the bagand one of them is a league title.

Will be interesting to see what happens if Liverpool win the Cup and can't defend it. Personally I hope Everton get bumped into the UEFA Cup as they will be the worst club ever to finish 4th and I doubt they will even qualify for the Champions League and even if they do they will be an embarrassment. Liverpool deserve a chance to defend it if they win it.

i dont i want liverpool to win it then have to play the uefa cup solely so all the closet liverpool fans that are appearing by the second in my office can recieve the same as all this seasons brand new chelsea fans .. they will all be supporting man u or arsenal again next season

Imagine the scene in Stanley park if the F.A. do bump down Everton and give Liverpool the Champions league place, it'll be carnage!! I blame U.E.F.A. Imagine if it had been Real, Barca or the Milan, in Liverpools place, should they win it. Winners should always get to defend their title IMHO.

It's absurd the holders (whoever they may be) can't defend their title. And anyway whatever the country how come a team finishing fourth gets to play in the CHAMPIONS league ? Why not come clean and call it the Greedier League or something similar cos that is what it comes down to.

didn't it happen to real Madrid, they won the champions league and came 8th in the league. UEFA wouldn't give Spain another spot and their 4th place team lost out.

The worst part of all this is Liverpool not being the team we wish to have represent the English league in the champions league final

Not only lucky in terms of was-was not a goal but they were very often defending 8 v 3 in their penalty area

I would rather see an English team in the final than a spanish or french or god forbid a german side.

Anyone who listens to TalkSport will know the subject of fourth place and champions league has been interesting and will keep us entertained for months if Liverpool win it.

 

If nothing else I want Liverpool to win it just to expose the FA and EUFA for what incompetants they are.
