Hornchurch avoid relegation by just six points!!!!

Recommended Posts

Thats right, you read this title correctly. Infact Welling finished above them. Because of the ten point deduction due to sinking in administration their points tally went from 61 to 51.

Not looking good for them next season then? If only the whole thing had fallen through a few weeks earlier then they would have been facing the likes of AFC Wimbledon or East Thurrock depending on what league they fell into.

Anyway I don't like seeing this sort of stuff happen to a club, good luck for the future Hornchurch.

What about the rest of you?

We were safe when the club decided that admin was the final option.

Most of us fans are just glad we aint starting next season with minus 10 points. At least we may be able to attract some new faces in the squad.

People have worked hard at HFC to keep it alive and credit should be given to all of them.

Cheers Harry J for your best wishes....and I'll reciprocate them to GNFC!

btw, Being in AFC's division must be a bonus for everyone else. Yesterday's match, away from home, drew over 2000 attendance.

The like of AFC Wimbledon? Listen mate this club is on the rise and they have a fan base some league clubs would be proud of.

????????????? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

What league are they in mate? Are they higher then Hornchurch or lower? Higher or lower? Come on get the brucey bonus.

I can't believe your coming on here having a go at me telling me about their fanbase. I know, my uncle and cousin support them and sometimes I go and see them.

But they're still in a worse of league then Hornchurch.

Probably the phrase "the likes of AFC Wimbledon" got on his goat, Harry. AFCW will be Conference South very soon, and likely to be Conference material not long after that. There are 21 other clubs in that division that would have been a better example to use rather than AFCW...!

Harry, unlike Hornchurch or ourselves AFC Wimbledon win their league EVERY season. They are playing in the highest league they can be given that they had to start from scratch.

Here is a tricky question for you...how long before AFC Wimbledon pass us on their way up?

Actually all those people who have a go at Hornchurch, Grays etc for 'buying' success should be standing back and applauding Wimbledon for doing it on the back of their supporters rather than on an individuals generosity.

we will see AFC Wimbledon in 4 years time when we meet in League 2. yes league 2 we are in are 2nd year and AFC join us.

...And then Mike woke up. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Much as I applaud AFC Wimbledon for their achievements, does anyone else think it's a bit dodgy that they list the original Wimbledon's trophies as their own on their website?

?????? No JC i don't thing it's dodgy. Although I see where your coming from. The spirit of Wimbledon won those trophies and then all that spirit was taken away from them for the very same reason's they were fighting against.

The dons spirit is about the big guy taking on the little guy and what happened was the big guy won.

The trophies that were won were won by a team no longer in existance in my oppinion. The only team to have any sort of claim to them are the team that represents that spirit, AFC Dons.

Back to the Hornchurch CVA situation...

Has the CVA now been completely agreed by all parties concerned ?

I was under the impression that The Inland Revenue were still holding out, whilst all other parties had reached agreement - which would mean that; at this time of writing; the CVA cannot yet come into force !

If this situation were to drag on past 30/06/05 (the official end of the 2004-05 season), then the CVA would officially fall within the 2005-06 season - and guess what that would mean ?

If you are waiting on Revenue and Customs (as they are now known) it is unlikely that it will be agreed anytime soon.

However if HX have gone into administration then they will get a 10 point deduction for that and would notget a second deduction if they subsequently went into a CVA.

Dave is correct, of course - according to Hornchurch's forum they have gone into administration and took the 10 point deduction this season.

Both this and the action of Cambridge smacks of cheating somewhat - hardly a punishment when you can choose when to have it, so it doesn't affect the outcome of anything.
