From Mr Kempsters site

"

Combined Counties League (1): Walton Casuals

Essex Senior League (1): Enfield Town

Isthmian League Division Two (2): Enfield, Ilford

Kent League (1): Ramsgate

Midland Football Alliance (1): Rushall Olympic

Northern Counties East League (1): Goole AFC

North West Counties League (1): Fleetwood Town

Spartan South Midlands League (1): Potters Bar Town

Wessex League (1): Lymington & New Milton "

Potentially 10 clubs for 8 spaces, 5 with ground clearances on first inspection. Including 1 runner-up. IF 2 could fail to have their grounds ready in time no play-offs - wouldn't that be nice.

I don't want to upset our friends from EFC, but as its a farcical injustice that 2 clubs fromRyman 2 go into the play-off draw, surely it would be a gross injustice if the runners-up were to get a bye?

This would be at the expense of a champion from another league, which has got to be unfair. Another example of the FA's inabilty to engage their brains.

The play off team to avoid is lymington & new milton , saw them last season and they do have a very nice set up there. The team itself would beat any side above ...They are class.

Does seem a tad odd to me too. The playing field seems to be as level as Barnet's pitch.

These so-called one-off play-offs, are they on a neutral ground twixt and between the two clubs, or does first out get home advantage, a la Goole v Enfield Town?

When first announced would be one off game at first draw - no regionalisation!

On another thread someone said about EFC vs ETFC.

To which I replied that it would stink of an FA fix only wanting one Enfield team around. And before anyone says sour grapes remember the playoffs have been already at FA Hq last Thursday so we don't know what went on there.

More to the point, if both teams progress will they be 'allowed' in the same league ?

You obviously missed what I was refferring to.

Apparently, when the actual promotion places are know the FA put the teams in the most 'appropriate' league. So, would they put them in the same one - thus having to potentially move other teams - or would one go in Ryman and one in Southern which are different geographical catchment areas ?

I think the FA still has to make its mind up about the connurbation rule. That could put a spanner in the EFC works!

Maybe, but perhaps it is only needed if there are more than 8 eligible clubs. Which there are, so what a good way to reduce the sorry state to a single play off

So would security of tenure!

Is that a problem for Abbey then? Not for town!
