Enfield Town 0-1 Concord Rangers

Recommended Posts

What a strange incident that was.Town were about to take a corner. As matty kicked the ball, the young ginger lad from Concord (was he a sub or just hanger-on) who was standing near the corner flag chucked something at Matty's foot, as he connected with the ball.As the ball went into the box a concord player clearly used his hand to clear the ball from off a Town players head. The ref blows up, just turns round and has a right go at the ginger concord lad,and makes Town retake the corner.Unfortunatly the concord No4 hurts his ankle as he came down from challenging for ther ball at the first corner and the game was stopped for a long time whilst he was stretchered off.Good to see concords own players giving the ginger lad a good clip round the ear and a rollocking after the game.

Some more very strange refereeing was the incident where the concord keeper saved the ball and fell backwards into the post with the ball still in his hands. He ended up lying injured cluching the ball at least a foot off the pitch.Asa tries repeatedly to wrestle the ball from him to take a corner. The keeper quicky recovers enough to jump to his feet and proceed in some 'handbags' with ASA,at this point half the players from each side join in the melee.Once the ref calms things down he awards (wait for it) A GOAL KICK...Priceless <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" />

I actually thought it was Dean Green who handled the original corner and this pic is of the incident and i can't see anything that caused the unfortunate injury.

It was good of the Concord team to celebrate their victory and then to stand aside and applaud the presentation, well done.
