A very enjoyable night,good band(OGWA),I think played Who,Queen,Otis Redding and many more quality songs from the `60`s and `70`s.A reasonable buffet was supplied and all the players were pretty approachable.Our sponsor Mr.Gladwish seemed quite an eccentric,dressed all in black,sporting a white kipper tie and topped out with a black fedora,that never left his head all night!

The venue was very good,and should prove a good asset for the club if regular functions are organised.

Skins,Jay received player of the year awards,players player and club player,I ain`t sure who won which,couldn`t hear much!Jukebox received young player of the year and Luke Moore received a couple of trophies in the PASE category.You might have to get confirmation of these as the Fosters was starting to kick in!

Skins got player of the year,

Jay got victors player of the year and players player,

Luke Moore got PASE Player of the year and PASE Players Player.

 

Although bit dissapointed at the buffet didn't think there was enough. Me and my dad went up straight up after the awards had been given out what did we find 3 scotch eggs and a bowl of olives!!!

 

All in all great night and very happy with the gift given out for sponsoring players, got jay's shirt <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

There was a picture of Victor in said fedora, and indeed an interesting goatee beard, beside the GLS Cup final report in yesterday's NLP.

A good night ! Shame the bar closed at 11.30 without being announced that it would !!

 

OGWA were excellent, especially the lady singer.

 

I think Mr Gladwish said in his speech that he had not been too well & was recovering from a recent operation, hence the hat & dark glasses ?

 

Where was Brian's speech ??? Come on Chairman....who's in charge ??

....and, upon reflection, it would have been nice if Liam had said a few words also......even if only to thank the supporters who had turned up ?...also, whilst I am on the subject, it would have been appropriate, for those players that were there, who had been sponsered, to present the goods to their sponsers themselves !!! No disrespect to Harry.....but it don't take much does it ??? poor show in my opinion !!!

Eh? If you talking about me not turning up then your very much mistaken. I didn't get paid the previous week so couldn't buy my ticket until the day whcih I didn't think I could do.


Ease up on the paranoia, Harry. I wasn't there, either, but I should imagine Hirsty was referring to Club doitallman Harry who comes round selling the 50/50 tickets during home games & can frequently be spotted at the ground during the week, doing all sorts of jobs. I should imagine he was roped in to present awards to people who had sposored players.

Agree I think everyone would have appreciated having the bags presented by the players, no disrespect to Wicky and Harry but people did not sponsor them. The gift bags are a great idea but last year were presented by the players.

 

Venue is good, needs a bit of tarting up, looks a bit tired, sure this is something that will be addressed it's still early days.

 

I thought the DJ was rubbish, HA HA. and his wife stripping on the table in the corner well!!

 

Mrs Wanless's version of Saturday Night fever has been captured on video. I wonder if she remembers it!!
